Scientists have discovered that, insect swarms can but up as much electricity as a storm cloud. Insects can carry small amount of electric charge. When theses charges come together from a swarm, the static electricity can build up. Making the air hold large amounts of electricity. These swarms can play a huge role is the earths electrical field.

Scientists have known about the minuscule charge carried by living things considering insects were in that category. Though this gave them a small chance of altering the charge. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/insect-swarms-electric-charge-static-electricity-storm-clouds-honeybees
This semester, I rate myself a 3 out of 5. I have worked hard to keep my grades up, but I did have some moments of procrastination. Overall I have learned how to study and I am learning the best way for me to study.
This semester I give myself a rating of 2 out of 5. I could’ve done a lot better. But when I was down I was able to pick myself back up
My goal for the 2nd semester is to be able to apply the information I’ve learned. To do this, I am going to take better notes and make sure I fully know the information I have learned and studied.
My goal for the 2nd semester is to study the right ways and to stay focused when we have a lab. The way I will study is make to memorize all of my basic memorization and go over all of the proper notes. For me to stay focused in lab is, I will try to read the lab before hand so I know what I am needing to do.
I’ve done well with keeping up with my assignments this week. I have been keeping a checklist of my tasks for the week and if I have time, I do what I can early. I hope I can continue with this habit.
My triumph this week was my time management. This week I had a lot of obstacles that would keep me from being able to get my work done in chemistry. Although I still got all of my homework done anyway. I also understand how to do empirical formulas and molecular formulas very well. This is because I made sure to take my notes right and do my homework as practice.
Could cross-linked polymers become more stronger/developed?
Yes they could become more elastic and tough.
Why are cross-linked polymers used in car engines and in ovens?
Cross-linked polymers are used in situations where things are heated because the cross-links keep the polymer together and do not slide around. When you heat other polymers, they lose their shape because nothing holds them together.
In modern society, we have a lot of environmental problems with the use of synthetic polymers. How can we reduce this problem? Instead of finding a way to take apart the plastic, scientists are researching new materials that are easier to handle. These materials may yield resin and plastics may be naturally easy to recycle. With this project, chemists might be able to create a water bottle that can be recycled infinitely.
The progress I have made this semester is better than last semester so far but I still kind of mess some things up. So I would probably rate myself 3/5.
To rate my self on my progress this semester I would say I’m a 2. This is because I missed two web posts because I put the name wrong. Though I have been able to do all my homework I still struggle on a few concepts.
This week, I rate myself a 4/5. With how busy my life is outside of school, I have done a pretty good job with staying on task and learning how to balance equations.
My struggle in chemistry is remembering the polyatomic ions and acids. I have been working on this struggle by studying the flashcards I made.
This week I struggled with being able to balance equations when I had a time limit. The way I’m going to learn to fix this is by practicing the normal rules while also practice timing myself.
What I struggled with this week balancing chemical equations on the quiz. How I can get better at it is to keep practicing it.
For my triumph, it was the chemistry quiz. I feel like I did really good on it.
This week my triumph was how good I did on the quiz. I was able to do this by starting to study since Tuesday. I also understood how to balance chemical equations better now. This is because I made sure to practice the right way on my homework.
My triumph this week, is doing well on the chemistry balancing equations and chemical reactions. By learning the chemical reactions, I have gotten better at writing chemical equations and balancing them.
Scientists discovered why icicles made of pure water are smooth compared to normal icicles which have a a more rippled look. They say that the normal ice has salt in it which freezes it a drop at a time. Where the pure water freezes continually throughout.

Most icicles are made and salt and water. Scientists discovered that it caused them to become skinny.

Scientists discovered a new type of ice that neither floats or sinks in water. They made this by shaking ice with stainless steal balls to create something called, amorphous ice.
Researchers developed a biomaterial that can be delivered to the heart soon after a heart attack to heal damaged tissue from the inside out. The biomaterial appears to repair tissue damage and reduce inflammation directly after a heart attack.

Scientists discovered that biomaterial didn’t allow heart attacks. It help the tissue also.

My triumph this week, was being able to solve the chemistry equations by myself. I will continue to practice and help others learn how to solve chemistry equations.
This week I was able to learn how to do all the stoichiometry problems better. I was able to do this by focusing in class and doing all of my homework.
My triumph for the week was the limiting reactant problems. I got better throughout the week and it showed on the test.
For the end of the 3rd term, I rate myself a 4/5. I have done well with preparing and studying for tests ahead of time and I have learned the best way for me to study. I hope to only get better and to help others succeed too.
To rate myself on how I did in this quarter I would say I’m a 3.5. I feel like I tried my hardest but I didn’t necessarily make my goal for what I wanted my grade to be
My rating for the nine weeks would probably be a 2.5. I didn’t put myself into a place I would succeed better
My goal for the end of the 4th quarter is to maintain my good grades. The way I’m going to do this is continue to push forward and do my work like always.
My goal for the last nine weeks is to be well prepared for everything better than the last nine weeks. The way I can do that is by reading all directions.
My triumph this week was how I was how I did on my lab. I was able to do this by reading my lab ahead of time.
My triumph for the week is how I stayed on task for the research of the project. How I did this was by keeping up with the research.
what I struggled with this week was learning how to make the hyphen notation and nuclear symbol. How I can overcome this is study my rules so that I can know them better.
What I struggled with this week was the isotopes. How I can get better is practicing
This week, I rate myself a 3/5 because I have procrastinated a lot this week, but I have still gotten the work done.
This week I rate myself 3/5 because I did good at explore zone but I managed to get behind on the paper.
What I would rate my day at explore zone is a 5. This is because I had a lot of fun and I can tell the kids did also. I can’t wait until next year when I can help to make a kids day.
My triumph this week is that I learned how to do the types of nuclear decay. I was able to achieve this by paying attention the day we learned it instead of waiting till later.
My triumph for the week was that I was able to accomplish a lot of my work on my project by staying ahead of things.
The Chemistry project helped me understand how the world works. It helped me realize how scientists do things with what they have and how they manage to survive if put into that situation.
I struggled this week in learning the energy levels of an electron. What I will do to over come this is work on it over the weekend so I’ll understand it better.
I struggled this week while preparing for my test. I will do better this week preparing for the next one.
This week i struggled with not having my full week to do my lab, because i had a golf tournament on Monday leading to missing a lab. I overcame that struggle by asking for help from my classmates.
This week, I struggled with knowing how to read graphs, but the exercise we did online helped me figure it out.
This week, I triumphed in gaining a better understanding of the different variables of an experiment by answering the questions for Graphing Exercise 1.
