CHEMISTRY: God bless you as you prepare for your quiz and test!! Here’s our overview of the quiz and test from today. After that is practice on completing and balancing equations from Worksheet 3 – and I added some extra practice from different classes.
Have you checked out the Ch 8 Test Stuff to Know sheet? Good stuff! Key to a good test results – memorize what you’re supposed to have memorized and PRACTICE EVERYTHING! You’ve got this!
Scientist are trying to trick A. They are doing this be slightly changing images, so that what is apparent to the human eye is not noticed by a robot. Although AI is extremely intelligent, scientist have cracked the code by using these slightly changed images.

NASA’s OSIRIS-Rex spacecraft successfully collected 121.6 grams of space rocks from the asteroid Bennu, more than double the mission’s science goal. The sample will be distributed to scientists for further analysis to learn about the solar system’s origins and the history of Bennu.

A mathematics named Richard Evan Schwartz was able to find how short a Mobius strip for a given width could be just by using paper and scissors. Through several tries and calculations, Schwartz was able to prove that the length-to-width ratio of a Mobius trip must be greater than the square root of 3.

In retiring the big, old power plants, something else has to step up and take its job in order to replace it and maintain the power stability. The power grid is a complex network that produces power to a nuclear power plant or wind turbine’s. And they can store and transmit power.https://www.sciencenews.org/article/one-device-transform-power-electical-grid-inverter
A new study reports that heat waves just don’t strike on land, they can also occur in the ocean. Statistician Furong Li and her colleagues turned to a computer simulation of the ocean’s temperature and currents. They pinpointed ocean heat waves of the simulation that were unusually warm. They spotted several hundred marine heat waves per year.

Scientists are working to use certain bacteria to capture the methane in air. This can be used to prevent global warming.

Under an interesting situation researcher have found that Alzheimers can be sent between individuals. The researcher discovered that five people had received contaminated growth hormone injections, which led to the development of Alzheimer’s disease in young children.

Spiders that fall into water use reflected light to find land. Spiders rely on vibrations, sound, chemical signals, and their eight eyes. With these eyes some species use to see polarized light. During a test they dropped 68 spiders into water and they all went to the unpolarized areas.

Hydrogen is the lightest element in the world. However, it can power fuel cells to make electricity and unlike wood or fossil fuels, hydrogen produces no toxic pollution. The problem is that how clean hydrogen will be for the enviroment depends on how it’s made. When trying to make hydrogen in the “greenest” way possible is very expensive. So far the cheapest way to make clean hydrogen is the most toxic to the climate. https://www.snexplores.org/article/hydrogen-fuel-clean-energy-source-climate
light colored feathers on migrating birds might have an effect of them staying cool. We know that light colored feathers help with predators, but there is new information about them helping them stay cool.

There is a branch of science called Ichnology, they study fossilized tracks, trails, burrows and excavations made by animals. They study this information to know what has happened in the past, to see if the environment back then was different than today.

A new lab grown meat combines rice with cow cells, and was said to form a pinkish brown mash as well as taste nutty and sweet. This could be a better and more sustainable way to consume meat in the near future, because the current way to farm cattle is very bad for the environment.

last chapter i felt better than i have on the previous chapters i also feel like i was better prepared for the test and did better on my homework throughout the chapter getting a better grasp on the problems
Last chapter was a lot harder personally than the other chapters to me, because of how much information we had to know. It was very hard to remember the rules and apply them personally.
I rate myself 3/5 stars on last chapter. I could be more careful to not make careless mistakes with chemical formulas, but I have improved balancing equations.
