CHEMISTRY – Can you believe it? We finished the chapter today! Kind of a crazy start to class, but do you understand powers of 10 better? Here’s the brief lecture from Thursday on direct and inverse proportions. It is brief info for the test, and then we’ll put it to practice in a couple of activities after the test.
Speaking of tests, one last help session tomorrow, Friday, morning at 7:15. BTW – go to Edline and look under “Tests” and you might find something that will help a lot as you begin to study. Yes, it’s time to begin studying; no, it’s not too early. And if you need extra practice on anything, don’t forget the help session tomorrow! Make a list tonight of the problems you need help with or questions you have. See you tomorrow!
Does it matter what type of substance we use?
Garrett – I’m going to give the sample to you in class tomorrow.
Ms. Skinner, how long should the rough draft for the lab be?
Vasilly – Not very, just a general idea of what you are going to do.
I dont really understand direct and inverse proportions. I watched the video from today and it still didnt click. Can I just come ask you about it tomorrow at the help session?
Danielle – Sure!
What kind of substance do you want us to use on the lab?
Rachel – I’m going to give you the sample in class tomorrow.
can we write on the back for the lab procedure rough draft?
Ben – Sure, it’s just a rough draft.
Coming to the help session tomorrow! I need to learn alot before the test on tuesday. Thanks for having them (:
Will we be getting our lab books back tomorrow because it says to write down the lab in our lab books
Taylor – Yes!
Is the lab report “Mass from Density” going to be due on Monday?
P. K. – Yes, Monday!
hey mrs skinner, is there going to be a vodcast or something over the powers of 10? because i really dont get it and i completely forgot about the help session this morning!!
I seriously had no idea what this lessons was even about until I came to the help session
is there going to be alot of vobab straight from the book, or will it all be from our notes?
It’s the same vocab, just worded differently.
Hey Ms. Skinner,
Is there going to another help session before the test?
I enjoyed the lab today!
Do we have to have a chart for each of our 3 different trials on our lab report???
When she was talking to our class about it she never said specifically. Just that we needed a data table with at least three columns.
I’m sorry but I’m confused on when the help session is/was? Was it this morning(Friday) or is it Monday morning?
When do we start science in the news?
Thank you for allowing Corey and I stay after to finish the lab, Mrs. Skinner.
The lab today was very confusing at first but being able to communicate with the other groups made all the difference! Thank you Ms.Skinner!
I’m so glad that we had to do the lab rough draft before we did the lab today. It let me plan ahead and I knew exactly what to do during the lab. Also by doing the lab I feel more confident with mass, volume, and density. It helped me alot.
Good thing the lab today was a rough draft. My format was entirely wrong. But it did help me understand what this chapter is about.
What day is the test?
Hey Ms. Skinner do we just write down everything we did today in our lab book?
Nick – Yes! And be sure and record EVERYTHING you measured in your data table. And show all your calculations! 🙂
Ms. Skinner i understood the lesson you taught this week it really helped me out.
do we need to know the definitions from the book or from our notes??
Ally – All of the above! 🙂
The review today helped a lot now I cant beieve how much I remembered.
The review today really helped!! Thanks
mrs skinner,
on this weeks science in the news you said we had to print it off right? and answer the questions on a seperate sheet of paper?
or do we write out the whole article?
Kelsey, yes you print off the article and staple it to the back of your questions. You do answer the questions on a seperate sheet of paper.
Ms.Skinner
Where do we find the sheet to the instructions on how to do science in the news?
Audra, if you click the Science in the News tab at the top of Ms. Skinner’s blog, it will give you a link for the Word document with instructions and a guide to do Science in the News. Also on the side panel you can find links for websites to find your article.
