Physics 8-9-19 Using the Scientific Method

PHYSICS: I love listening to you “talk through” the scientific method! Can’t wait to see what you design for your whirly gigs! Now what could you do to get the longest hang time? Hmmmmm…..

Whirly Gig template is under the Worksheet tab, if you need it. Happy flying!

  1. My main goal in Physics this year is to figure out why I fall up the stairs. Do I not meet the qualifications for nature? Jokes aside, I want to know what makes the universe do what it does, and not just what, but why. I want to leave the classroom at the end of the year knowing I did my best, not leaving any “I wish”es behind. No “I wish I had studied harder or done my homework,” no “I wish I had asked that question,” no “I wish I had taken more opportunities to learn more.” I look forward to an exciting, challenging, terrifying year in your class! 💖💖

  2. How in the world does a wall push me? Physical science in 8th grade was not my shining moment so I’m really excited to FINALLY understand it all. Honestly, I don’t think I know very much about physics so I really just want to learn all of it. That’s probably very difficult to fit into a seniors schedule. In all seriousness, I want to learn as much physics as I can and how to be diligent and meticulous with my work. I mean scientists have to so why shouldn’t I?

  3. This year in physics, I expect to learn how to naturally place myself in the mindset of a scientist. In chemistry, everyday was a struggle to follow a lab write up. By the end of the year, I want to be able to naturally perform the scientific method to figure out small things. I want to learn not only how to be a problem solver, but an efficient problem solver who doesn’t sacrifice excellence for a “good grade.”

  4. For my last year here, I expect to learn how it all started. Newton got curious about a falling apple, and now we’re able to send people to space and build particle accelerators! I want to know as much as I can about how our world works, and with this class, I can get a taste. I’m hoping this class will help me tons with my college major. Besides maintaining grades, I really just want to satisfy my curiosity!

  5. I think coming into this class I was very much expecting similar things to Chemistry, which I loved. However, they are very different branches of science and I want my brain to be able to realize that, accept it, and move forward with it. My goal for this year is to be challenged, which I’m quite sure I will be. I want to step outside of my comfort zone, and even though (in all honesty) I wasn’t sure about taking this class in the first place, I want to be sure that it was the right decision in the end. God placed me in this class for a reason and I can’t wait to find out what that is! (Also I know this is late and I have already apologized but I will again, I am so so sorry it won’t happen again.)
