HON CHEMISTRY: I figured anybody who ditched his honeymoon to finalize his work on atomic theory deserved to have his picture on our website. (And, by the way, great job making like electrons today – way to role play!)
Here are a couple of other links to some great video clip that begin to show the connection between our lab on spectroscopy, the hydrogen emission spectrum, and how we can identify elements. They’ll be very helpful as you study!! Spectrum of the Stars, The Emission Spectrum of Hydrogen

This week I would rate myself a 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed and understood this week’s lesson. I believe I did really well with the lab. I struggled a little with part 2 of the lab and measuring the colors, but I will look over it this weekend.
this week I would rate myself 4/5 stars. I have really been understanding the lab and the notes. I also learned how to use a spectroscope. I did struggle a little with reading a spectroscope, but since I took a picture of it, I will be able to look at it.
This week in Chemistry, I felt like I understood the lesson and most of the homework. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because of that. I also felt prepared for the lab we did this week because I made sure I thoroughly read it before I came to class. It took me several tries to figure out how to read the spectroscope, but in the end, I was able to do so successfully. I plan on working on the lab this weekend so that I will not have to finish it all the night before it was due.
This week I think I’m doing a good job understanding the lab and reading the spectroscope. On homework I’ve had a little bit of trouble with the math problems, but I think once I get more practice in I will do better.
This week was really interesting. It was a subject I was always interested in, but never took the time to learn in my free time.
Struggle: I was waiting really late and procrastinating a lot, so hopefully I can fix that.
Triumph: It was really interesting and I didn’t have any trouble understanding the lesson.
I’d rate myself 4.5/5
This week I would rate myself 4.5/5 stars. I don’t want to give myself all 5 out of 5 because I don’t feel like I did perfect, but this was definitely one of my best weeks ever. I understood the lesson pretty well, and thought the lab wasn’t too difficult. I actually really enjoyed it! So, I am looking forward to next week.
This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I understood the lesson well, and I didn’t struggle with homework.
This week I would rate myself 4/5. The lesson was very interesting, and I enjoyed using the spectroscopes to see the spectrums of light. Also, I understood the lesson and all the homework, and that helped in doing the lab as well.
This week I would rate myself as 3/5 stars. This is because even though I succeeded with my goal of becoming a more-independent learner, I struggles with the same things as last semester. Specifically, I’m struggling with my time management and organizational skills. Over the next few weeks, I plan on becoming both a more-independent and more-organized learner with my studies.
