HON CHEMISTRY: So you’re saying, not only are there atoms that want to get rid of electrons, there are atoms that want to take them? Here’s the lecture (or an old remix, I should say) on 2nd ionization energy and electron affinity.

It’s cool how you can find all these trends on the periodic table! A good way to remember them is to remember they all go the same direction except the atomic radii trend. It increases as you go down a group and decreases as you go across a period.
I think that it is awesome how they came up for the test for arsenic poisoning. The Marsh Test is a terrific way to find arsenic in samples.
I cannot log in to glogster. I am using the same username as we discussed in class, but no password that I try is allowing me to log in. I have also tried to reset the password through email, but over the past hour there hasn’t been a response in regard to a password change. I have tried all the suggestions listed on the new updated project sheet, but I am still unable to get into the glogster account.
I thought it was awesome that we can use our knowledge of periodic trends to organize the elements in our periodic tables today. I really enjoyed that assignment!
The Poetry Project was a nice way for me to not only figure out more about Glogster, but also I found out a lot about Nitrogen! It’s cool how even though nitrogen is a relatively unreactive element, its compound are very unstable
