CHEMISTRY: From Wednesday, here’s the last of the info on significant figures. Is it starting to click? If you need extra practice, don’t forget the help session tomorrow – 7:15ish A. M.
Speaking of tomorrow – get ready to apply EVERYTHING you’ve learned this year!
CHEMISTRY 8-28-13 Accuracy & Precision and Significant Figures from Tammy Skinner on Vimeo.
I like the metric system better because it goes in multiples of ten instead of memorizing a different value for each measurement.
I’m understanding and getting the hang of significant figures now.
I understand significant figures now and I’m getting the hang of using them.
I am starting to understand Significant Figures better and it is easy when you understand it.
Thank you for posting this so soon! It’s really helpful to rewatch parts where I fell behind and didn’t write down all the notes!
I’m so glad that you post these videos for us!
These videos really helpful me of where i fall behind in my notes.
These videos really help me catch up on my notes I miss in class. Thank you!
I like the way you showed us sig figs. I understnad it easier now.
Thank you for posting these. I know have a better understanding of Sig Figs.
Thank you for posting this! I now have a better understanding of Sig Figs.
The lab this morning was very challenging! If the density we measured wasn’t exactly the density of one of the fruits but was really close, was that okay?
The help session was very helpful. Thank you for waking up early for us.
This lab today was very challenging! I hope our class did a good job with our calculations.
Sig Figs are starting to make more sense to me now.
im working on the balance lab and its really frustrating
Jessica – Don’t give up! You can do it!!!
The lab this afternoon was very interesting!
If the same color blocks had different masses, then how did they all have the same Density range as related on the paper?
I really enjoyed working together, as a group, in the ID of Unknowns lab today!!!
Are we going to go over how to turn in the take home labs tomorrow?
Rachel – Yes!
I took the temperature of the room today for the SI Scavenger Hunt, and when I looked at the large thermometer on the wall the temperature was over 25 degrees Celsius, but when I used a lab thermometer and held it in the room temperature air, it said the temperature was only 21.8 degrees Celsius. Which should I use?
Holly – the one at the lab! I think the thermometer on the wall is not calibrated correctly.
The lab today was very interesting! I really enjoyed working on it as an entire class!
Thank you for posting the videos! It is helpful when I fall behind in my notes!
I understand the math part of chemistry better now, after going to the help session. Thank you!
Sarah – a couple of ways. You can type the calculations into your lab, or you can write all the calculations on a sheet of paper and then either take a picture with your phone and paste it into your lab or use a scanner to scan the page into your computer. Either way is okay.
How are we supposed to show our work in the math portion of the labs when turning them in to Google Drive?
I found going over SI units to be very helpful for communicating my results. For example, im yesterday’s lab, we were all able to communicate our results easily through what we learned throughout the week
Thank you so much for the help session on Thursday! It really helped me better understand density problems. I hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks for posting these videos! They really helped me understand sig figs!
The videos are really helpful to go back and listen to. Thanks!
I am starting to understand sig figs. Thank you for the video about sig figs.
I didn’t get it at first but I do now in hindsight its quite simple
thanks for the help
John – You are welcome!!
Definitely studying for this test.
Will there be a web post about submitting labs electronically?
Clare – We missed you yesterday! Yes, I posted it not too long ago.
class is really getting interesting, its a little hard. but im learning
