CHEMISTRY: Happy new year and welcome to nuclear chemistry! We only barely got to begin today, but let’s finish talking about the properties of radioactive nuclides tomorrow. I think you’ll be surprised how much nuclear chemistry is already a part of your everyday life. And now you know where E=mc2 came from!!
Have you got a copy of the syllabus yet? It’s really important that you read it carefully – especially so you’ll know what to do about the half-life lab.
We’ll finish the properties and begin talking about nuclear equations tomorrow. By the way, you ought to read about the life of Marie Cure. Fascinating woman of science with an incredible story!

Thank you for posting these! I would be sooo lost without them!
Marie Cure really is fascinating!
Can’t wait to see what this semester has in store for us!
Does anyone get how to do the neutron to protron problems or the problem 51 with the half life stuff?
Rence – Did I put a half-life problem in the homework? My bad!! I’ll explain tomorrow!
I think nuclear chemistry is an interesting concept to start studying.
I am really looking for to learning about this chapter.
This chapter seems really interesting. I’m kind of worried about getting back into things again though!
Learning about radioactivity and the story of the radium girls is very interesting.
Im really intrested in learning about nuclear causes and things in that category!
I never knew that there so many common substances that were radioactive!
what is the first man made element?
Jonathan – We’re going to talk about that this week! 🙂
The radio activity chapter we are studying is really interesting! I like learning about it!
I was really surprised to learn that some rays like alpha rays can’t even pass through paper
I wish i didnt get drug tested today. I really needed to hear the lecture about radiation. The Vlog help me really understand the chapter.
I’m ready for this semester ready to knock it out I hope it’s as fun a last senester
Surprisingly, I understood this section. Still have to read. Looking foreword to a great semester of chemistry!
I did not know that some half life’s for elements could last so long.
I really understood this section!! Really hoping u can do a lot better this semester and excited about what we are going to learn!!
Its amazing how on of them can go through concrete
I’m excited to learn all the different things about radioactivity.
This chapter is very interesting
I actually enjoy learning about radio activity. It’s interesting!
I redid because i did the wrong format.
The things we are learning about radioactivity are really neat
I’m really enjoying learning about radioactivity
On the Nuclear Fission Simulation Lab do we print out our results and bring them to class tomorrow?
