Chemistry 1-28-13 Quantum Numbers

CHEMISTRY: How’re you doing? Confused yet? Don’t worry – today you learned all the background information about quantum numbers, tomorrow we’ll put it all together and it will begin to make sense. If you didn’t hear the lecture today you missed my croaking voice, but here’s an old vodcast from last year – for sure one that you want to watch!

We didn’t get to orbital notation in class today, but don’t worry, we’ll go over that first thing in class tomorrow before I take up homework! Go ahead, give it a try and see if you can figure it out!
🙂

Hon Chemistry 1-28-13 Chapter 5 Overview

HON CHEMISTRY: God bless you as you study for your test on chapter 5! Thanks for being so patient with your sickly chemistry teacher! Here’s the very last of the new info you need for the test tomorrow on electronegativity. This is an old lecture, so you may want to fast forward to the electronegativity part, or you could use all of it to review! And don’t forget Linus Pauling! (P. S. I’ll post the actual lecture from today if I can get it to upload!)

Speaking of studying for the test, did you find the Chapter 5 Stuff to Know Sheet on Edline? A couple of other items for discussion – besides the ones on the sheet, that is, why is grass greener after a lightening storm? And don’t forget about arsenic poisoning – the symptoms, the test, and how the test works.

One last thing, don’t forget that in addition to chapter 5, this test will also have orbital notation, electron configuration notation, and noble gas notation. If you need any extra practice – helps session tomorrow morning at 7:15ish A.M. Good luck studying. I’ll be praying for you!!
