In the future, you will probably be taking online classes where you will have to be part of online class discussion groups, and you’ll be graded on your comments and how you participate. Are you having a knowing where to post your web post comment or understanding what a good web post comment is?
Here is a plan that will help you! Your goal is to have STAR Web Post Comments. Get it? STAR? 🙂 Click here on the STAR Web Post Comments Idea Sheet under the Worksheets/Handouts tab for ideas for good comments that will receive credit. Be sure and check the syllabus every week for the topic for that week’s web post comment.
Here are some hints:
IMPORTANT: Make double dog sure you write your name in your web post the correct way. If your name/heading is not written correctly, you will not receive any credit for making the web post. Check an earlier syllabus for instructions on how to write your name.
Here’s what you do to post a web post comment:
Click on the title of any web post from the week that I have made for your class.

A new advancement has been made that has allowed blind people to see. This is made by inserting a chip in the back of an eye paired with glasses which leads to vision. There is a camera that is connected to the chip and glasses that sends information to the retina. The vision is regained by the use of natural peripherals and the new prosthetic peripherals allowing these people to see. However, they are only able to see in black and white currently.

This chpt 1 test I would rate myself a 3/5 because I studied and knew the material but I think I could’ve studied more cause there was some parts on the test where I was second guessing myself. so next time I will study more to really make sure I know the material.
I did well on memorizing the elements because I studied using Blooket and flashcards. I did not do well on the multiple choice. I can change this by studying differently. I looked over my notes and knew most of the ones I got wrong. I will try to change it by making more practice tests and work on application from the notes.
I did well on the memorization part of the test, but I didn’t do well on applying the information that we learned to my test. I also didn’t do well on my discussion question because I didn’t give enough detail in my answer.
I struggled with knowing how to figure out the charge of the transition metals in the chemical formulas. I overcame this by going back and reviewing my notes and doing some practice problems to help me understand it more and know how to do it.
I struggled with remembering the polyatomic elements and I also struggled with overworking myself this week. I will overcome them by studying longer for the next polyatomic quiz, and I will be easier on myself about things in the future.
This week I struggled with making time to study because I started basketball and have been very tired. but I am going to push through and find a way to stay up and be motivated to study.
I took really good notes that have helped with understanding what we’re learning
I have done well with memorizing the prefixes for the subscripts. This is because I have learned them from previous math classes which has helped me memorize them and remember them easier.
This week I did well with keeping up with everything I need to do and turning everything in. I say this because I started basketball and have been overwhelmed but I’m starting to get in the rhythm of things.

Exposure to microplastics, tiny particles in air, food, and even water, interferes with the makeup of the cells that line the arteries can cause heart attacks from the sped up formation of atherosclerosis. The most affected cells were the Endothelial cells that regulate circulation and inflammation because these types of cells are often the first to come across the microplastics.

In 2022, Marianne Falardeau, a polar marine ecologist at Université TÉLUQ in Quebec City, Canada, co-authored a study showing how to make small-scale fisheries in the Arctic more resilient in the face of climate change by combining western science with indigenous knowledge. The collaborative approach helped to broadly capture the influence that seasonal ice changes had on the diet and nutrient quality of fish.

I rate myself a 8/10 this semester. Plenty of ups and downs but in the end I have learned so much about my abilities God has given me. I will improve next semester by studying weeks prior to knowing a test or quiz is approaching.
I rate myself a 4 this week. I have been on top of my homework in this class. Also, I have already started studying for my test next week.
I would rate myself 3 out of 5 stars this semester. This is because I have done well in the labs and activities because I have planned well for them. However, I have not done as well as I should have on the tests because I would not prepare enough in advance. This has shown me that I need to find a different studying method to help remember and apply the studying to the tests.
I’d rate myself a 3/5 because I’m doing well with paying attention and learning the material but I’m struggling with finishing and having time for my homework. I’m going to improve this by staying up and working a little extra during school to get what u need to get done
My goal for second semester is to get better grades on my assignments, especially my tests. The way I can meet that goal is by studying harder and to participate in class everyday.
My goal for this semester is to improve my grades and not give up on myself.
My goal for this semester is not only to get better grades, but to try to get an A in this final semester. I can meet this goal by changing my study habits to make more time to study and work out equations and study more of the application questions.
my goal for this semester is to push myself and get everything done on time because i only have one more semester and i think i should try my hardest. i can get this goal done by staying off my devices and making sure I’m paying attention to my time and making the most of my time during school so I don’t have a lot of homework
This week in class I have done well with being able to stay on top of my assignments with other activities after school. I have been able to do this by starting my assignments in study hall and then finishing them after practice. This has helped me to be able to finish all assignments and turn them in before they are due.
I did well keeping up on my homework and Ive been doing pretty good with the balancing equations. I did it in IPC last year so its really not new for me. I also think Ive been doing good on my homework is I do it before i get home so I wont forget
I worked well on my lab with my partner because we worked together and did it efficiently to get it done.
I did very well on my tests and quizzes from this week because I studied diligently
This week i did well with keeping up with all of my school work and turning everything in on time while balancing two sports and not having much downtime.

If a big asteroid plummets to Earth, there are many possible outcomes, the space rock could splash into the ocean and not harm anyone, or it could wipe out a city.

One skill I have learned is how to determine when a reaction will occur based on the activity series. To determine this is if the reactant is gold, platinum, or silver then there would be no reaction. Also, if a less reactive element tries to replace a more reactive one then there would be no reaction. You can find this by looking at the activity series where the elements at the top and they get less reactive as they go down the activity series.
A skill I’ve learned is how to separate certain elements and compounds that are all combined. For example, is salt, iron shavings, sand, and seeds are all combined, you would first need to discern which to separate first. using a magnet you will acquire the iron shavings, then using a sifter, you will get the seeds out from the salt and sand. next, you would need to filter the sand from the salt. once you acquire the filtrate, and evaporate it to get salt. lastly, dry off the sand that was in the filter.
I did well this week on completing the lab. This is because I watched the vodcast multiple times to help me understand how to set up and complete the lab. I was able to have the correct equations and the correct tests. This allowed me to complete the lab before class was over. I was able to get the correct results because I took good notes and watched the vodcast.
This week I did well with studying and keeping my mind strictly on my school work. I was able to do this easier than usual because I didn’t allow myself to get distracted easier.
I would rate myself 4 stars in the last chapter. This is because I made one of my higher grades on the last test. I also did well on memorizing the types and balancing the equations. However, there were a few problems that I didn’t know what the reactants produced. I understood the last chapter well; however, there were a few problems that I still did not understand.
I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 for this chapter. I definitely could have studied more to fully grasp what i needed for the test, but I am glad that I am improving day by day and can actually show I understand.
I rate myself a 2/5 because I could’ve done a lot better and pushed myself but i have been so tired and the weather has really brought me down. But now that its getting warmer outside and sports are starting to settle down i feel better already and im ready to end the year strong.
This week I did well on preparing for the Pre-Lab and understanding how to calculate percent yield. This is because I made sure to find time to read over the lab and I was able to understand how to do the Pre-Lab in class. I did well with the percent yield because I understood the previous lesson. This helped me do the problems easier.
This week i did well with turning things in on time. I did this by making sure i was paying attention in class and making sure to check the syllabus.
One thing I did well this week is finish the lab without my lab partner which shocked me because I though I would do poorly.
This week I struggled with getting the correct calculations when I plugged the problem into my calculator. I figured out that I was not pressing equals after each calculation, but instead I typed the whole problem in before pressing equals. After I started pressing equals after each conversion I began to get the correct answer to the problem.
I struggled with remembering certain materials needed for the test this week. I will overcome this by studying more diligent and not overwhelm myself with work
I would rate myself 3 out of 5 stars in the 3rd term. This is because I did well on my tests. This is because I studied better and better understood the lessons. However, I did not do well on my lab. This is because I did not have good answers, conclusions, or observations. Overall, I would rate myself 3 stars because I had better test grades, yet my lab grades were not as good.
I’d rate a 2/5 cause i had a lot of personal things going on at home so it was hard for me to stay focused and get my work done during the day. But I kept working and trying to get my grade up
My goal for the fourth term is to do well on my chemistry project and to make an A as my overall grade for the nine weeks. I plan to meet this by not doing my project last minute and doing sufficient research to do well. Also, I plan to make an A by having better studying habits and preparing better. Overall, I plan to meet this by improving my methods and not waiting until the last minute to get something done or study last minute.
My goal is to pass chemistry with at least a 70. My plan to doing so is to lock in and make sure i do my homework and webpost the correct way and making sure i turn everything in on time.
my goal for the 4th nine weeks is to be ON TIME or before with all due dates. I will work towards this goal by not giving up on my school work and not getting distracted.
