Hon Chemistry 5-3-18 Molar Volume of Gases & Gas Stoichiometry

HON CHEMISTRY: Okay, for the record, water balloons do not obey Avogadro’s Law, but gas balloons do! Equal volume balloons contain the same number of molecules.

And how about the Gay-Lussac’s Law of Combining Volumes – and your first look at the Ideal Gas Law? Yay, more great conversion factors!! How are you doing with blending the old and the new? Let play around with them tomorrow. Calculators ready!

  1. I have to be honest this week…My struggle is this entire lesson. I usually at least sort of understand the lessons but on this one I am wholly confused. I’m just hoping/waiting for it to click. I will rewatch the classes and hope for the best!

  2. This week I would rate myself 2/5. I am having trouble grasping the concept of this lesson. I am also disappointed by my lab write up grade and hope to do better on the next one.

  3. I rate myself a 3/5. My lab write-up grade was pretty garbage, and I got shredded. Also, I am finding it difficult to stay attentive sometimes in this class. I need to get some more sleep next week.

  4. This week has been a struggle!! My lab grade wasn’t great. And also, I’m struggling with these new problems, especially the larger ones. Hopefully after some practice I’m underdtand them better.

  5. I rate myself a 2/5 this week. My lab grades are terrible and I’m really struggling with this overwhelming chapter. Maybe it will get better.

  6. I rate myself a 2/5 this week. My lab grades are terrible and I’m really struggling with this overwhelming chapter. Maybe it will get better. I’m going to study a lot over the weekend.

  7. I would rate myself a 2/5 this week because my lab grade was absolute trash this week and I don’t understand this chapter at all, but at the same time I don’t know how I could make it make sense. I’m doing my best I promise. 🙁

  8. This week I rate myself a 3/5 because I did well on my homework and did decent on the lab. However I could have studied much more on my makeup test. I feel like I’m understanding this chapter much more though.

  9. This whole week was definately a struggle. My lab grade was ok. But this lesson is completely and utterly confusing to me and I hope it’ll get better over the weekend as I re-work homework problems.

  10. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. It has been quite difficult to grasp this lesson and I find myself lost in the larger problems to solve. Hopefully talking each step out will help as I prepare.

  11. This week was a struggle with some positive stuff as well. I feel my grades slowly slipping and I am checking out, like it feels like summer and my brain doesn’t want to work. But I actually do like what we are learning right now so maybe that means I won’t fail this test. Plus I have already started practicing and studying.

  12. This week i rate myself a 1/5
I get the concepts in this chapter, but that’s pretty useless to just have in my head. I need to keep up with time limits and keep myself organized because I’m not fixing anything by… not… fixing anything…

  13. This week would be a success except for tomorrow. I am going to have to study hard tonight because I have failed to prepare before now. Otherwise, my week has gone well. My labs were decently successful.

  14. This week has been not so good. I am still struggling to fully understand the information on the test, so I have a long night of vodcasts and practice problems ahead of me. It’s a good thing I’ve made index cards and started to attempt the memorization. Also, if anyone who’s reading this can help me: I would REALLY appreciate if someone could send me the note they made which describes how a pressure cooker or the bends work… I for some reason do not have my own…

  15. This week has been a struggle. My partner and I completed the lab, but our computer did mess up so we don’t have an initial pressure of our own. I am also very uneasy about the test we just took. It was very hard to finish and I didn’t get to check my work. However, I am very glad that the last test is over.

  16. This week was a struggle. It started out well because my lab group successfully completed our lab and learned Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressure. But today I battled your test and I was handily defeated.

  17. This test was absolutely a struggle. I ran out of time, and I was very shaky on Kinetic Molecular Theory. I just want to go to sleep and not do school anymore ;(

  18. I give this week a 2/5. I didn’t do as well on the test as I would have liked, and I was really confused in the lesson. But I did show up and take notes.

  19. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I have lost all of my steam. I thought it would be easy to gather enough energy to study a lot of the last chemistry test, but I hardly studied. I hope that I still did ok on the test. At least I have extra credit from science in the news!

  20. This week has benn a big of a struggle. I’d mostly understood the lesson but I don’t think the problems all the way through or I can’t remember something or some formulas. On the bright side I finished my test before the bell rang.

  21. I’m giving myself a 0/5 this week, I’m in summer break mode. I didn’t have enough time to finish my test so I’m not looking forward to getting that grade back. It’s just been a tough home stretch.

  22. This week my triumph was the lab. I understood how to set everything up and the reactions that were taking place. And I was on the Northpoint Instagram for a video that Ms. Skinner took, and that made me happy

  23. This week was 3/5 for me. I missed a lot of easy questions on the test because I made careless mistakes. I knew how to do the “big mama” problem and I’m kind of happy about that.

  24. This week has been a struggle. I studied and thought I would do at least decent on the test but that didn’t happen. At least it was the last chem test!! Now just have to get through exams. Also I really enjoyed the lab we did today with the sprite can.

  25. I rate this week a 2/5. I really wanted to do well on my test but I spent my time studying stuff that didn’t matter as much and didn’t do enough practice. However now I feel like I have learned my lesson so I can study more efficiently for the exam.

  26. I would rate myself a 2/5 this week because I studied very hard the test but still didn’t make the grade I wanted. I also thought I understood stoichimetry but I guess I don’t. I also have a headache because of this chapter.

  27. I’d rate myself a 5/5 this week because I passed the test and my grade didn’t plummet. At this point, I’m just trying to stay positive…but the sprite can lab was pretty cool!

  28. This week has been a struggle. I haven’t felt good and I did not get through the test like I wanted. I want to prepare for exams and finish the year now.

  29. This week I rate myself a 1/5, just because I showed up and took notes. My grades are terrible, my emotional stability is nonexistent, and i would probably fight a grown man for a chocolate bar.
I just have to finish this lab report, do as much extra credit as i can, and cry. I mean, try.
