  1. This week in chemistry, I have struggled with understanding ans working out unit conversions. To help with this, I have been studying and memorizing the chart with the prefixes, their meanings, and the exponents. I feel like this studying will help me tremendously on future assignments.

  2. This week (and last week) I struggled a little with studying for the elements quiz. I realized that just looking over the elements wasn’t enough. I needed to actually write them down, and really think about what I was doing.

  3. This week i struggled with time management and trying to memorize the information on the pre-test and i also struggled with the oxidation numbers

  4. My goal is to be able to make a A on one of the test that you give us and i plan on achieving this goal by asking for help if i need it, making time to study, and making sure im studying the right way.

  5. My goal this semester is to make better grades on my test and I plan on doing that by giving myself more time to study in advance and applying the definitions more rather then just memorizing them

  7. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I did all my homework but did not complete it all. My test was not the best I could’ve done. I didn’t study as much as I needed to.

  8. Reflect/Rate
    I believe that I have done good this week even though we have had short class periods. I understand everything that I was absent for and have completed all the labs. I rate myself as a 4/5 because I should have started studying for my chemistry test on monday

  9. This week I would give myself a 3 because I understand how to do the formulas and how to find them in word problems. However, I do get them mixed up sometimes and that’s why I studied the week to make sure I get it right on the test.

  10. My science in the news topic was about vaping. Vaping has now killed 8 people. According to the American Lung association, vaping slowly causes the lung to stop functioning. It has very addictive chemicals and fruity flavors which draw in teenagers. Vaping has put many teenagers alone in the hospital with severe lung issues.

  11. This week I am struggling to figure out how to set up my lab report on Mass Without a Balance. To help me figure this out I will use the worksheet on the website to guide through the lab write up.

  12. The only thing I struggled with this week was transporting my information to the shared folder. Once other people helped me, I found out how to do it on my own. So now whenever we do it next time, I will be able to do it on my own.

  13. This week I felt like I did pretty good with the graphing exercises on the computer. I understood reading and graphing the graphs.

  14. This week was kind of a review because I remembered how to graph, but it was good to review. Even if I knew what I was doing I was fixing the little things that made me more aware of mistakes that I could make

  15. This week I felt like I did good on the graphs. I knew how to do graphs but I kind of forgot, so I got good review on how to do them.

  16. I rate myself a 8 this week because I studied and remembered the elements. The only thing I messed up on was putting a “t” on Arsenic, but that was the only thing I messed up on all week. So overall I feel it was a good week

  17. It’s been a short week and we aren’t doing much but I feel like I’m taking reliable notes and understanding what we are doing in class

  18. This week I was sick but I watched the Vimeo’s and took notes and caught up with what I missed in class and studied the material I didn’t know too well

  19. Even though this week was a short week I feel like I learned a lot. The candle observation was hard because I could not come up with 45 things that I observed, but once some people helped me out I figured out some things I could write down.

  20. I rated myself as a 5 out of five today because I was very attentive in class and I feel like I did good on the lab.

  21. This week I struggled with the lab. I felt like I didn’t come up with a good plan ahead of time and it was hard for me. Next time I’m going to try and come up with a better plan.

  22. The title of my article was, “Algae inside blood vessels could act as oxygen factories” the author was Laura Sanders. My article was about scientists trying to find out if the algae in tadpole can pump out oxygen for cells that need it. They found out that it was true.

  23. My science in the news was about how 1 volcano erupting could make the volcanoes around it erupt. After one volcano erupted, scientist decided to put sensors around the bottom of a volcano that hes been dormant for a long time. Not long after they placed the sensors down, they recorded 559 earthquakes. Then they saw liquid forming underground that could be magma due to these volcanoes. So even though this volcano has been dormant, it could erupt due to earthquakes.

  24. This week I did my science in the news on why car rides seem to take forever. The reasoning behind it is the anticipation and the illusion of time. It tricks your brain into thinking your going much longer than you actually are.

  25. My goal for this year is to learn stuff that I will need to know for when I get older and want to do for my job. I am enjoying the labs , but I need to focus more on actual work and notes we do. I think what I need to plan on doing is just spending more time outside of class teaching myself ways to understand things for myself.

  26. My goal for the year is to learn interesting things about chemistry. I want to make a A but if I don’t I want to make at least a B. I will study hard for test, pay attention in class, and do all my work.

  27. After today with a small class, I am understanding what we are doing a bit more. It really helped when it was taken slower and broken down more. So I feel like that is my triumph for this week.

  28. I was challenged with memorizing all of the acids and polyatomic ions this week. It was like no matter how long I studied, I would always forget something. However, I think I did good on the quiz

  29. I am thankful for my health. I do not know what I would do if I wasn’t able to play sports. I am also thankful for my family. Even though they can be annoying sometimes.

  30. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for Jesus and Him dying on the cross for our sins. I am thankful for everything in my life.

  31. This week I am thankful for all of my family and all that they do for me. I am thankful for all of the sacrifices my parents make for me to go to this school and get a good education and to feed me and to put clothes on my back. And I’m also thankful for the fact that they do this joyfully and without any complaints.

  32. This week I am thankful for my family and friends. I couldn’t imagine how my life would have been if I didn’t have the people around that I do today.

  33. This week I feel like I understood everything that we did and I am going to be able to apply it on the test. I am going to get better at understanding the notes as we are doing them.

  34. I rate my self a 1 out of 5 because I thought I prepared myself for the test but still did bad on it. So I need to find a different way to study.

  35. My goal is to end this semester better than I did last semester. I need to make sure I am doing labs and homework right and make sure to study more for the test.

  36. I started off the week rough. I kept getting neutrons and electrons mixed up and putting them in the wrongs columns. But today I was getting them right and getting it easier.

  37. This week I would rate myself a 4:5 because I did a lot better on homework, but I still had some downfalls throughout the week

  38. This week I rate myself a 3 because I still am confused on what we are doing. After today however, I am better understanding what we are doing.

  39. I wasn’t there at all this week. I know I missed a lot and when I come back I have to make up a test. So I’m am going to watch the videos and look over the stuff to know.

  40. My science in the news was about how there is some chemical inside a honeybee’s guts that trick their predators dying. So if you have a hive of bees and 1 gets eaten, the rest of the predators will be scared because the honeybee made the other predator die.

  41. Right now I’m struggling with getting caught up. I’m am struggling with the information from last chapter. It’s hard learning new information and remember the old information at the same time.

  42. I rate myself a 4 this week because I am finally caught up and am understanding what we are doing in class. I will also be studying this weekend for the test so I can get a good grade and bring my grade up

  43. Rate: 5 What we are learning is going pretty smooth for me but I don’t think I’ll be able to do the problems without using the aufbau chart
