PHYSICS: Here’s our look at the free fall homework – #32, 39, and 37, the ball thrown from the roof, the hiker dropping the first aid kit, and the first rocket problem.
Are you becoming more comfortable with working problems? When selecting formulas, it’s always a good idea to ask yourself “Why?”. Why can you use this formula? Why is it legit? Why is it the best one? Is there a better route to the solution? And then, continue to practice them over and over til it starts to become second nature!
This week I would rate myself a four out of five stars. This week, the difficulty and complexity of the problems involving changing acceleration and different distances dramatically increased. This meant that I had to focus on the basics of my formulas and truly think about what I was looking for and what I had in each problem, and not just plug and chug. With this, I did get many homework problems wrong. However, after sitting down and reworking many of these problems, I figured them out. Me struggling through this problems actually gave me a deeper understanding of how to work them. This allowed me to better work the newer problems I faced. That is why I rate myself a four out of five stars.
I would rate myself a 3.5/5 this week. First of all, I have gotten better with the problems and have begun to really get a grasp on the process behind solving them. I did a better job with my homework by not giving up on hard problems. One place I could have been better this week was with preparation for the test. Either I was not studying some nights or I was studying the wrong things. I will need to fix this fast if I want to succeed in this class.
I would rate myself a 3/5 for this week. I am gradually getting better at the calculations with every problem that I practice. Even when I would get stuck on the homework, I made sure to write down everything I knew and I was able to think the rest of the problem through. This helped me not give up and find solutions. Something I still need to work on before the test is working faster. Right now I have a better grasp on the problems but it still takes me a while to complete them. Over the weekend as I study for the test, I will definitely be working lots of problems and attempting to get faster with each one.
