Chemistry 2-7-23 Activity Series & Reactions with Oxides

CHEMISTRY: What!?! You mean there aren’t little green people on lonely country roads? 😉

Great job applying the activity series to synthesis and decomposition reactions! As you practice, go back and check the activity series and your notes on the activity series!

HW UPDATE: Because we didn’t finish single replacement reactions today, the book homework for tonight is cancelled for now. BUT that just means you have extra time to study for the quiz on Friday!

We’ve done 10 so far – how are you doing on memorizing them?! Careful though, don’t just memorize. Make sure you can apply them as well. When you start to work any equation, first determine what type of reaction it is, then figure out what rule applies and follow it to determine the products. I believe in you! You can do it!!

  1. One triumph I have had in chemistry this week so far is taking good notes. I have been more organized and detailed with my notes and that has helped me stay prepared and focused while we learn new difficult material. I am proud of my progress but hope to keep doing better this quarter!

  2. This week I triumphed in taking good, precise notes. I payed close attention to detail during the lectures and wrote down almost everything said. When I take good notes and pay attention in class, it helps me learn and understand the lesson better.

  3. My triumph for this week is my good notes and focus in class. We have a lot of information to memorize this lesson, so I have been paying attention so I will understand everything and make a good grade on our quiz this upcoming Friday.

  4. My triumph this week is getting better at taking notes. I spaced everything out more which made it easier for me to understand them while I’m looking back over them. I hope this helps me study better for the quiz on Friday.

  5. My triumph this week was remembering to do all of my homework and studying ahead of time for our quiz. I started studying two days before instead of waiting until the day before to study. I also made flashcards to see if that would help me memorize the material easier.
