Hon Chemistry 12-1-22 Describing Chemical Reactions

HON CHEMISTRY: So tell me again – how do you know if a chemical reaction has occurred? And how could you record that for someone? Here’s the lecture from today on writing balanced chemical equations.

Here’s another hint – it’s not necessarily a good idea to try to make your own blue flame thrower! Click here to watch the Periodic Videos Blue Flame Thrower Video

  1. The chemistry test taught me to be properly prepared for things. In life, we have to be properly prepared for hardships and responsibilities.

    • The chemistry test taught me to be properly prepared for things. In life, we have to be properly prepared for hardships and responsibilities.

  2. My application for this week is to be better prepared. I did not prepare as well as I should have for the Chemistry test, and it resulted in unnecessary worry and stress. When I go into something, anything in life, I need to be as prepared as I can for that situation in order to preform to the best of my ability.

  3. The application from this week has be being more prepared for future test. I studied a lot for this test which lead me to get the problems right but not so much the multiple choice. In the future I’m gonna study more vocab and learn how to apply them.

  4. Knowing about recyclable polymers is useful in life. I also know which plastics are recyclable by looking at the symbol on the back that shows whether the plastic is high density or low density and how recyclable it is. This is useful so I know which objects to recycle and which ones to throw away.

  5. My recently aquired knowledge about the structure of polymers will allow me to make more informed decisions about what i put in the recycle bin.

  6. The test has taught me that I need to learn better time management skills. Once I improve on this, it will not only help me on future tests in everything, but it can help in other places where I am put on a time limit.

    • I rate myself a 3/5 for this semester. For the first half I did good, but for the whole second half I would get a bad grade that would drop my average, then I’d build it back up, then it’s drop again.

  7. In chapter seven we learned the names of a few common substances, this is useful when looking for ingredients such as vinegar you may find it as acetic acid.

  8. For the first semester of this school year I rate myself a 4/5 stars. For the most part I stayed focused and disciplined. I did all my homework and tried my best on all the quizzes and tests. However, I took one star off because I can always work harder and do better.

  9. For the first semester, I rate myself a 3.5/5 stars. I was very proud of my hard work and effort during the first term, and my grades revealed that. Unlike my first term, I wasn’t as proud of my second term. Although I didn’t necessarily do bad, I believe I could’ve done better.

  10. I rate myself a 3/5 for this semester. My reason for this is because I kept up pretty well with all my work, studied effectively and efficiently for my work, and overall enjoyed the first semester of chemistry. However, I also learned that if you want to succeed in life, you also must be willing to fail. It was difficult staying on top of my work, nut despite that, I am excited for what is to come in the spring semester.

  12. I rate myself 2/5 for this semester because I didn’t achieve all the grades I wanted to make, but in the end, it is what it is. This semester was so much fun and I learned many things! All good things

  13. For this semester I rate myself a 3/5. I have achieved the grades I thought I was capable of throughout the semester. While there are some areas I have room to work in overall I am okay with my current chemistry experience and cannot wait to further my knowledge.

  14. I would rate myself a 3/5 this semester. I give myself this rating because there is definitely a lot of room for me to improve in different ways such as studying and working harder to understand the application of everything. I also gave myself 3 stars, because I have worked hard to get all my homework done such as labs and webposts.

  15. I’d give myself a 3/5 rating this semester because this is the first class I’ve ever had to study for and it’s been going better than I thought it would. I do want myself to do better than I did this semester because I have had too many people tell me I’m not making an A in this class because it’s so much harder than any class I’ve ever took.

  16. My goal for this semester is to maintain an organized system for my work load not only in chemistry, but also in my other classes. I will achieve this by receiving an ample amount of sleep, reducing procrastination, and staying focused when I’m doing my work.

  17. My goal this semester is to properly study in advance for test and always be prepared when I walk into class. I will do this by reading the syllabus everyday and asking plenty of questions in class.

  18. My goal for the second semester is to learn how to calm my nerves before a test. To do this, I’m going to study properly and calm myself down so I can rely on what I know.

  19. My goal for this semester is to keep an A and to better organize my plans with school and family around me. I will do this by figuring out what else I have going on and put them in a planner.

  20. My goal for the second semester is to learn how to calm my nerves before a test. To do this, I’m going to study properly and calm myself down so I can rely on what I know.
