Physics 8-31-22 The Tortoise & the Hare and Emily Revisited

PHYSICS: You did a great job with the tortoise and the hare problem today! Also we took another look at the Emily problem. What did you think about this new approach to the solution?

Have you reached the point where you can do these by yourself without looking? Don’t give up! You’ll get there!!

  1. This week I struggled with homework and how to do homework problems. During class we are going over the questions, and I am writing the formulas of how to do those types of problems and finding out why that equation works and re-working those problems.

  2. I would rate myself a 2/5 for this week I have struggled with my homework and instead of trying to figure it out I have just been quitting and waiting till class time to get it explained. I want to understand the homework but it just isnt clicking yet. I am going to watch the vodcast and try to understand the problems so I can do my homework by myself.

  3. This week I struggled with finding ways to work homework problems. To help with this, I will try writing down more information for each problem because, even if in the end it is not needed, I find myself sometimes not using the full extent of the available info when checking the problem.

  4. This week I struggled with doing my homework efficiently. I did well on the homework problems, but I will need to get faster before the test. Homework has been taking four plus hours a night and I know I won’t have that on a test. I will work on this by working practice problems as much as possible.

  5. This week was definitely a struggle week for me. The problems and the homework proved to be a lot more than what I think I prepared myself for. The level of difficulty on these problems was a lot, but after working through them in class it got better. I am going to improve by allowing myself to take more space and spread out and think through the process of doing the work, watching the vodcasts, and working through problems until I get to where I understand them.

  6. This week I struggled with doing my homework in a way that would give me good practice for tests. I rushed my homework by solving problems algebraically instead of deriving a formula for them. To solve this in the future, I will do homework as if it were graded like a test. I will make sure to derive proper formulas for problems.

  7. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I did well on the labs and activities, and I knew what I was doing. The homework was hard for me this week. After practicing in class this week, I feel much better on them, but I still need to practice and get better at them.

  8. This week I struggled with deriving formulas from questions that had limited available information, and I struggled with how to properly solve them. In order to solve this, I will do many more practice problems until it clicks and rewatch the videos detailing how to do them correctly.
