Physics 4-20-22 Chapter 12 (Not 11) Overview

PHYSICS: No sound on the recording of the test overview from today, BUT I did find an old overview of the sound chapter – with a short look at the speed of sound lab at the end. God bless you as you study! You’ve got this!!

  1. This week I would rate myself a 4.5/5. I think that the test went well and I was able to finish all six of the problems instead of just five like I normally do. We also had much success in the lab today when we redid the speed of sound lab. I did, however, have to turn in a few homeworks late but got them completed none the less.

  2. This week I have another struggle: studying for my test. As we have all mentioned before, senioritis had become a very real problem. The desire to do any schoolwork whatsoever has vanished from my body so as you can imagine I did not want to study for our test in the slightest. This caused me to put studying off until the last minute which only made it worse for me to study. I hope the test went well despite this struggle. I’m thankful that this was our last test and that I won’t have to study for another chapter test this year.

  3. Triumph:

I had one big triumph this week which was the test! I actually was able to find some time to study for it and I felt very well prepared for it. I felt like I did decent on MC, and I knew the discussion and problems very well. Super sad because we’re almost done 🙁

  4. I would rate this week a 4/5. This is a higher rating than most other of my weeks, and it’s simply because I feel like I did rather well on both the lab we did as well as the test yesterday. I was able to get all my labs turned in which was a big stress reliever. In the lab, Sean and I were very successful in our attempts to find the speed of sound using different frequencies. Additionally, I feel like I did at least okay on the test, which was good. Overall, it was a pretty good but tiring week.

  5. This week, I shall discuss struggle, of which I have had many. First, the test. So, I did not start studying for the test until the very last second. I literally was studying in 4th period, which is very out of the ordinary for me. I was extremely overwhelmed, and I felt like I had no idea what to review. As a result, the test was not the most fun. Another struggle I have had this week is just doing my work. Everything in life is hard right now, and I just cannot seem to get myself together. I am just going to keep trying my best and be patient with myself as much as I can. I am also going to continue to try to stay on top of my work, even if I don’t want to.

  6. I’m not sure what I’d rate myself this week. I truly did very well getting all caught up and studying for my test, but something feels very off. I feel like I’m fighting something but I know I didn’t. Let’s say 2/5

  7. This week I experienced some more struggles. The major struggle was the test, where I felt like I had not been prepared as well as I have been in the past. I was not able to study as much as I would have wanted to due to my second major struggle this week, which were the lab write ups. I procrastinated and waited until the very last minute to do them, which is usually not the case for me. So my two struggles were the test and procrastination this week. I guess I will try to just finish up these next few days and try and reduce my procrastinating.

  8. I wasn’t at school this week, but I think my challenge will be trying to study for the chapter 12 test on a long bus ride home. Hopefully I do well, I’m still praying for a star

  9. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I overcame my mental block and studied hard for the test and completed all my late work, although it was still late so thats a negative. Nonetheless I still think the test went well. We also had good results when we did our speed of sound lab again today and we fell well within 10% error. Its a little lame that I suddenly got motivated this late in my senior year but at least it happened.

  10. S-Struggle / T-Triumph

A struggle I had this week is continued senioritis as well as sleep deprivation and mental and physical exhaustion. To combat this struggle, I shall pray and attempt to finish the school year. A triumph I had was the test. I think it will be my second best test grade of the year. That being said, I still could’ve made a 2, but we’ll see.

  11. A STRUGGLE I faced this week was most definitely the AWFUL Rube Goldberg project. As a whole, this project simply made me sad. There were MANY frustrating moments throughout this project. The most frustrating of these was when the project would not work on competition day. I will fix this problem by never working on this project again.

  12. My triumph this week was that our physics project finally began working. We had some initial troubles with the catapult but eventually found out how to fix the mechanism that allowed it to hit the tower of cups with enough force to knock them over.

  13. A HUGE triumph was our Rube Goldberg project. It didn’t work for weeks, but when we finally went to show it, it worked perfectly the first time.

  14. I’d rate this week a 4.5/5 stars. I give it this rating becauee e had the Rube Goldberg project due this week as well as the Six Flags trip. Our Rube Goldberg project went exceptionally well, we got it set up and it ran successfully on only the second attempt on Tuesday, then in the competition it ran successfully twice in a row to secure the dub. Additionally, I had a blast making it with my team. Six Flags was a great trip learning the applications of physics all around the theme park and just goofing off with my friends. It was a great week.

  15. Triumphs:
Many triumphs this week!! Our physics project finally worked and I am so proud of us. We faced some tough obstacles early in the week with it, but we were able to overcome them and eventually had lots of success. This week has been a slight struggle because I DO NOT want to do assignments anymore. However, overall I have had a fun time closing off my career at Northpoint and my senior physics career.

  16. This week I shall discuss triumphs!! I have not done this topic in forever because these past weeks have been a mega struggle in all aspects of my life. However, I have a couple specific triumphs for this week. First- I did not do too shabby on the test from last week. Big win. Second- our Rube Goldberg project worked and I could not be prouder of my lab group. Very bittersweet to know things are coming to a close. Only a few days left!

  17. I’ll rate myself a four out of five this week. We did the Rube Goldberg project very well, and we had a flawless run for the first time. I’m upset with myself that I didn’t get to tell me skimmer about is skipping, but that’s water under the bridge. The trip to six flags was incredible and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

  18. This week I would rank myself a 3/5. I give myself this rating because my test grade was much better than I expected it to be, so that was nice. However, our rube project sucked. We did much worse than we would have hoped and the time we put into it wasn’t accurately reflected in our result so that was kinda depressing, but oh well. I really enjoyed six flags with all of y’all and I am glad we were able to create these memories together

  19. S – STRUGGLE !

SuRpRiSe, SuRpRiSe! This week had many struggles as usual. The most significant of all was probably the Rube Goldberg machine. We spent many hours slaving away on that project, losing sleep, sanity, and homework time, only to have the project start to fail over and over again when it came time for the competition. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially when I consider the detrimental effects this project had on me and my group. Like Abby, I will work to ease this struggle by never touching it again.

  20. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I did much better on the test than I expected which was a nice change. Our Rube Goldberg machine also worked without fails which was awesome, hopefully that is a good grade. Also our Six Flags yesterday was rather neat.
