Physics 11-5-21 Friction & Forces on an Incline Problems – Take 2

PHYSICS: Boxes and block, all slipping and sliding… Is it starting to make a little more sense? Here’s our look at #40,#46 and #52 – taking it a step further.

  1. R-Rate
This week I would rate myself a 6.5/10. We did not have school Monday and I was not there Thursday and Friday. The two days of the week I was in class we went over some new material and I feel like I understood it pretty well. However, when we went over the problems that we had for homework over the weekend, I did not fully comprehend what I did wrong on some of them.

  2. I’d rate myself a 3/10 this week. I understand the material presented, however I can’t seem to grasp how to complete this lab with less than 10% error. Each time I try, changing procedure and minimizing possible sources of err, I still have a massive amount of error

  3. This week I would rate myself a 5/10. I was overwhelmed at first by the force problems, but I am quickly understanding them. While I may not do all the problems perfectly, this is the fastest I have ever begun to understand a concept in this class.

  4. I rate myself a 3.5/5 this week. Although it seems like this week went by super fast, I feel like I did okay. I stayed on top of my work and I did the best I could. I seem to be grasping the friction problems, and when I am initially confused I am able to revisit them and try again. However, there are definitely some challenging ones that absolutely make no sense to me. An issue I had this week was the lab. It was extremely challenging and frustrating as it seemed impossible to get below 10% error. But, I am proud of my lab partner and I for working hard and doing the best we could! We didn’t give up which is a huge triumph.

  5. I rate myself 7/10. I made a decent grade but I could have done more. I did study but I should have studied more and differently.

  6. T – Triumph

One triumph I had this week was the Newton’s Second Law lab. When we redid it in class, Liam and I were first able to get it to about 13% error, the second lowest in the class. Then, Liam was able to get it down to about 3% error by averaging multiple acceleration points for better accuracy. After all of the struggles we had with this lab, this is a great triumph.
