Hon Chemistry 9-29-21 Intro to Chemistry

HON CHEMISTRY: So now that you know how to use all the tools we’ll need in chemistry, it’s time to start talking about ….chemistry!!

Were you able to able to make applications with the branches of chemistry and categories of scientific work? We’ll finish talking about the properties of matter tomorrow. Don’t forget the applications!

Now it gets interesting! 🙂

  1. Triumph- I think I studied and took the test well this week. I used the test study guide Mrs. skinner kindly provided for us as my guideline to study. I also studied a little every night, so I didn’t try to learn it all at one time. When we took the test, I looked over the sections and number of questions before starting. I hope I did well.

    • triumph- this week I did a lot better preparing for my test. I didn’t cram study and I took my time and whenever I felt that I was losing focus, I took a 15 min break to recompose and then going back so that I don’t waste time just reading information and not retaining it. I did this so that I won’t be stressed and so I will have a better understanding of the material on the test

  2. Triumph- My triumph is that I’m starting to study the elements on the periodic table. I know we don’t have to know them until next week but I wanted to actually start studying early so my triumph is that I’m not procrastinating studying these elements.

  3. Triumph- This week my triumph is that I learned from my mistakes from the last test. Last time I was so stressed it clouded my thinking. This time I tried to stay calm and I was able to take the test faster-when last time I couldn’t even finish. As I said, my triumph was doing better on the test this week because i stayed calm and had practiced using the material in the lab.

  4. Triumph: This week I did well studying for the test because I thoroughly reviewed the information instead of thinking I already knew it. I also think I paid attention well this week because I tried to be focused and understand the information instead of trying to remember it later. It really helped because I understood the information better when I was actively listening to understand it and not just to know it for the test.

  5. Triumph: I believe I did well this week in preparing and in taking the lab safety test. I studied well, I did not cram and I spread out my studies throughout the week. I used the materials Ms Skinner gave us to study, and I used my time wisely on the test.

  6. Triumph- This week I did well on studying for my lab safety test. I did this by thoroughly reviewing the information and making sure I am able to apply what I know. I also did not cram, and I spread out my studies.

  7. T- This week, I did well for studying for the test. Even though I don’t know what I made on the test yet, I feel confident that I studied in the right way. For example, I followed every instruction on the tips for studying sheet, even the seemingly tedious ones like rewatching the video. All of these suggestions definitely helped me out in preparation of the test. Hopefully when it comes back I made a good grade:)

  8. This week I feel like I did well on my test. I studied ahead of time and didn’t try to cram. I felt as though I also did well on my labs because I read them carefully before entering the class.
