Science Exams First Thing Thursday – December 17

God bless you as you study for your chemistry, honors chemistry, and physics exams! How are you studying? Best advice? Practice, practice, PRACTICE! Be active in studying – don’t just read over the material. Review games on the online textbook, reworking old homework problems, re-working those flash cards you’ve made – all good. Watching vodcasts of old lectures might not hurt either!

Chemistry Exam Help Session Thursday morning, 7:15 A.M. for Regular Chemistry

IMPORTANT – Bring your exam review packet (and textbook, if you checked one out) to the chemistry room before you go to your exam room!

Here are the room assignments for Thursday’s exam:

Chemistry 1 Rm. 307 (Mrs. Berryhill’s room)
Chemistry 2 Rm. 306 (Mrs. Fox’s room)
Chemistry 3 Rm. 309 (Coach Gray in Mrs. Maynard’s room)
Chemistry 4 Rm. 308 (Dr. Mackey in Coach Ainstworth’s room)
Hon Chemistry Rm. 311 (Ms. Hopkin’s room)
Hon Physics Rm. 304 (Mrs. Carlisle’s room)

Don’t forget to bring your completed exam review packets to our classroom first thing when you come on Thursday. I’m praying for you!!

Chemistry 12-9-20 Chapter 7 Part 1 Test Overview

CHEMISTRY: God bless you as you study! Here’s our GREAT overview of the test from today. Also, did you find AND EDIT the Chapter 7 Stuff to Know sheet? Use it as a road map for your studying, but make sure you watch the vodcast to know what from the chapter will not be on the test. I know it seems like a lot, but you can do it!

Don’t forget the free Ch 7 Part 1 Practice Test on PowerSchool learning. It has some great practice for the test!!

First priority – make sure that you have memorized EVERYTHING. Then, practice!!! Go to sciencegeek.net and make sure you can write and name chemical formulas. Practice, practice, practice!!! Then start practicing the different kinds of problems – do at least three of each one of them. And also try those on sciencegeek.net. That’s always some good practice.

I’ll be praying for you! You can do it!!

Physics 12-8-20 Ch 5 Review WS 2 Answers & a Preview

PHYSICS: Now this is a lot of grocery carts! Here’s an old look at #18 and #19 from the Chapter 5 Worksheet 2. Would have been helpful, I think, if they had told you at it was at constant velocity.

Help session tomorrow morning at 7:30ish – not 3:30ish (!!!) A.M. God bless you as you continue to prepare for the test! I’m praying for you!!!

Hon Chemistry 12-8-20 Another Look at Balancing Chemical Equations

HON CHEMISTRY: Okay, maybe balancing equations isn’t exactly like this, but…..

Are you starting to get the hand of balancing equations? Don’t forget to check the formulas first!

God bless you as you practice for your quiz tomorrow. Notice I said practice! You’ve got this! P. S. Don’t forget to check the formulas first!

Hon Chemistry Assignment for Monday, December 7

HON CHEMISTRY: Happy Monday! Here’s your assignment for Monday.
Today you’ll practice balancing equations using Balancing Equations Worksheet 2. Write the type of equation in the blank and then write the balanced chemical equation under the sentence.
Guess what my best hint is? Make double dog sure you have the formulas written correctly! And don’t forget diatomic molecules!

Chemistry 12-7-20 Monday’s Assignment & Moles, Mass, Atoms & Avogadro

CHEMISTRY REMOTE STUDENTS: Monday you’ll switch and watch the lesson below today and take the quiz tomorrow.

So… how big a bucket do you think we’d need to hold a mole of frogs? 🙂

Nope, not the furry brown creature that burrows underground, it’s a whole different thing! Here’s the lecture for Tuesday (that you’ll watch on Monday) on moles, mass, and Avogadro’s number. I still say he has a cool name… 🙂

Hon Chemistry 12-4-20 Describing Chemical Reactions

HON CHEMISTRY: So tell me again – how do you know if a chemical reaction has occurred? And how could you record that for someone? Here’s the lecture from Friday on balancing chemical equations.

Here’s another hint – not necessarily a good idea to try to make your own blue flame thrower! Click here to watch the Periodic Videos Blue Flame Thrower Video

Physics 12-4-20 Power & the Horsepower Lab

PHYSICS: Great job on the horsepower lab. Not so much noise this time! I’m thinking maybe you don’t have as many physics phrustrations to work out?!? 🙂

So how many horsepower do you have? You found Watts? So how many horsepower is that? Hmmmm…..

Here’s the super short lecture from today on power – beginning with #46 from last night’s homework. Now go forth and conquer the power problems!

Need answers? Here are the Chapter 5 Review Worksheet 2 Answers:
