Chemistry 11-3-20 Graphing Exercise 1

CHEMISTRY: Today you will begin Graphing Exercise 1. Don’t forget if you get stuck, you can always go back and watch the videos below.

Here are the instructions for Tuesday – (You are going to be dreaming about graphs!!)

IMPORTANT: A rough draft of your first graph (graph J) is due tomorrow by class time. The entire assignment must be submitted by this coming Friday, November 6, 8:00 A.M.

You can do this assignment at school or at home with your own computer. If you use any device other than a PC or any graphing tool other than Excel or Google Sheets, you may need to modify the instructions to fit your device.

    1. When you begin working on the Graphing Exercise 1 assignment, pay very close attention to the instructions. Also, pay close attention to the sheet on How to Make a Best Fit (Scatter Plot) Line Graph in Excel 2010 – UPDATED to make sure you have all the parts of the graph covered.

4. Google Sheets only: If you ever need to add subscript or superscripts to the axis labels in Google sheets, try copying and pasting whatever number you need from this set in to the axis title in Google sheets: ⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹₀₁₂₃₄₅₆₇₈₉

Now go forth and conquer graphs!!

  1. Today, I struggled with time management in class while graphing. I am going to improve on this by making sure I am fully prepared for the lesson as well as completely understanding what labs sheets and worksheets are saying.

  2. I struggled with not procrastinating. I will fix. this by making sure I do assignments early and staying on top of all my work.

  3. Struggle:
This week I struggled making my graphs. I had trouble with my minor gridlines and my numbers across my x-axis. Mrs. Skinner and I finally figured out how to fix it later on by rewatching the videos. Next time I will try rewatching the videos more than I did this time and maybe even take notes over them.

  4. This week i struggled with grid lines for the graphs. It was hard for me to figure out how many of each to put to make it easier to read and insert the graph. To fix it i will practice more with our graphs and watch the video some more times.

  5. This week I struggled with naming the y-axis and x-axis the right name. I forgot I couldn’t just put the name of what I was reading. I’ll do better by practicing my graphs and re-watch the video.

  6. This week I would say my struggle was with turnitin.com. I turned it in to turnitin.com and I go back and it was not there. I would also say another struggle would be was with graph J.

  7. I struggled with following instructions. I kept getting impatient instead of taking my time. I will work to keep calm and follow instructions carefully.

  8. My triumph this week was making a good grade on my quiz that I studied for. Hopefully next time I can get an even better grade.
