# Physics 9-3-20 Acceleration

PHYSICS: Loved watching you “discover” acceleration yesterday! Also – love how you began deriving formulas today!! I think you’ll come to find these are a ton better than some of the velocity problems you did. List what you are given and what you’re looking for – don’t forget things like “starts from rest” and “came to a stop.” Easy peazy! Okay, maybe not that easy! 😉

This week I had a triumph. I learned how to calculate acceleration using different versions of the same formula. Learning how to derive formulas to get one that works with the information given in a problem was my triumph. I fully understand how to figure out what formula to use based on the information given in a problem. I did well with the equations and calculating this week because I practiced the problems multiple times until I got the correct answer and understood the work I did. When I did the homework, I challenged myself by not looking at the notes. Even though the homework took me longer than usual, I pushed myself to practice deriving equations and solving problems without any help. Overall, this week was good, and I really enjoyed learning new equations and how to calculate with them.

I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I have not had nearly as much trouble on the acceleration problems as I had on the velocity problems, and I have actually enjoyed doing them! I also did not have a difficult time with the labs we did this week, which is a huge improvement from the past couple of weeks! Beginning remote learning half way through the week definitely came as a surprise, and I was very nervous to learn physics remotely, but it has actually been much better than I expected. I am extremely nervous for the test next week (especially since I still struggle with velocity problems), but I plan to begin studying over the weekend so I can balance my time between studying and moving and so I can hopefully get a better handle on some of the problems I have been struggling with!

i would rate this week a 3/5. The beginning of this week wasn’t too bad, i enjoyed the lab. The struggle cake with swapping to online learning halfway through the week. It’s really different trying to learn without being in the actual classroom. Even when i make my room as distraction free as possible, there is always something going on outside like the neighbor mowing the lawn to distract me. Today was easier then yesterday though and i’m hopeful we will be back on the 14th. Thankfully these problems aren’t giving me as much trouble as the ones last week or i’d really be doomed lol.

This week I wanted my webpost to be about how I’m going to use remote learning to get myself ahead. Since I have to stay home these next few days, I am going to use my extra time to work as far ahead as possible in all of my classes. I want to spend a lot of time working on my online French, and I hope to apply to a few colleges. Even though we are learning remotely, I hope that I can use this time to work hard and continue to prepare myself for my future. I’m a bit nervous about our upcoming physics test, but I feel like if I work hard on this weekend’s homework, I will do just fine 🙂

I personally rate myself 4/5 this week. I really do think that I pulled it together in terms of scheduling and work. I am no longer behind and I’m excited for what next week has in store.
