Physics – Intro to Harmonics & Beats for 4/14 – 17/20

PHYSICS: So why do instruments that are playing the same note sound so different? Here’s the discussion of harmonics and beats.

Also, to start the lesson for today, you’re going to need these two short video clips:
Breaking Glass with Your Voice
Tacoma Narrows Bridge

So could you break a glass with your voice? And what do you think about the Tacoma Narrows Bridge? Can you apply today’s lesson to explain both?

  1. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. This week I did not procrastinate and I worked hard on all of my work. I also understand the content very well and I think I am ready for the test on Tuesday. I am finally used to remote learning, but we are almost done with the school year. Next week, I think I will conquer the project with my group if Ms. Skinner decides to assign it. I am sad that the rest of the year is going to be very strange, but I am ready to face these trials with courage.

  2. This week is a 3/5. I can get my work done, but I feel like I’m struggling to grasp concepts. I don’t feel super prepare for the test, but I plan on working my butt off to study this weekend. Hopefully, I’ll get a better understanding. I’m not ready for the school year to end, but I’m sick of remote learning.

  3. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I actually started and completed a lot of my assignments early which definitely lifted a lot of stress. I plan to keep this up and hopefully end well. However, I do feel like I’m getting tired of school in general. I just want it to end not going to lie. Only like 2 more weeks sooooooo

  4. This week I would rate myself a 5/5. My procrastination has been at an all-time low this week, even with my motivation also being very low. I am proud of the work ethic I have displayed in getting basically all my work done before the weekend. I am excited to do this Goldberg experiment, but I am kind of scared of how I will do on the test. Oh well. It eeezzz what it eeezzz…

  5. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I did fine with my assignments, but I am really struggling to stay on task. I’m so ready for the 29th!!! Also, these school assignments are a little overwhelming when it comes to the fact that AP exams are coming up AHHHHHHHHHH. Also, I’m not understanding physics super well, but it normally comes together last minute, so I guess that’s fine.

  6. This week is a 4/5. I didn’t procrastinate on anything as much as I usually do, and it was really nice weather so I biked A LOT. I’m not ready for the test, but I am trying my best! It’s the last one, so I’m going to give it all I’ve got! I’m excited for the project if we have one. It’s been a good week! Also, I am ready to see people again, so I hope we do have graduation on the 9th! I’m going to keep praying about everything and trusting the Lord with this situation.

  7. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I did not procrastinate on my work at all this week. I did a fair amount of work each day, so I did not have anything to do over the weekend. Also, I feel as if I have a pretty good grasp on this chapter. It seems much easier than usual. I have also enjoyed my time this week by talking to my friends a lot and playing a lot of video games. I am honestly ready for the school year to be over, so we can start summer and hopefully return to some level of normalcy. I feel prepared for this test Tuesday, and I am looking forward to the physics project.

  8. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. Although I did pretty well school wise with getting things done, I feel like college stuff, senior stuff, and a whole lot of other stuff is just piling up and I am going to start missing deadlines for things. There isn’t much time left in school though so next week I will make sure I finish strong!

  9. You know I actually did all my correctly (as far as I can tell), but there is one major, I mean MAJOR problem. I don’t know any of it. Like at all so this test is going to be interesting. Also in the sound waves lab that noise it was making made my ears ring afterward, not an enjoyable experience to say the least. other than that my week is pretty perfect.

  10. This week is 3/5 for me. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, so I need to get myself caught up before the test. Otherwise the week has been good and not too troublesome for me. I’m ready to close this week off and I’m ready to be done with senior year in general. So close to wrapping it up. Just have to push on a little further.

  11. This week was bad. Ever since I found out I wasn’t going back to school, nothing seems worth it. Geez that sounded really sad. I’m okay guys…kinda lol. I’m really trying to push the depressed part of me away so I can do my work but NOTHING is working! UGH! I tried but alas I procrastinated until the very last minute (hence me writing this at 12:30 am) and hopefully produced some mediocre work. I’m going to try harder next week but no promises. I just want to graduate.
