Physics 12-2-19 Simple Machines

PHYSICS: Did you remember this stuff on simple machines from your physical science days? I don’t think you’ll have any trouble with efficiency and mechanical advantage problems. Give them a whirl and let me know!

How do you think the efficiencies of machines compare? Could you design a method to test that? You don’t need no stinkin’ lab sheets! Do you? 😉

  1. This week I would rate myself a 2/5. First, the simple machine lab was rough. It’s not that it was difficult, but it was very time consuming. I also feel like I have fallen behind on this chapter plus all the work that is due at the end of the semester. Being absent tomorrow doesn’t help either. Oh well, I guess after I grind in the pool I’ll be grinding the hw.

  2. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I had to make up two labs after school, but I did not internally complain too much, so I see that as a win. I understand what is going on conceptually right now, but I’m not sure how much I am willing to study for the next test. Christmas is almost here, and I am a little burned-out. however, I have a new method of studying and attacking tests that got me an A on the last test. Hopefully, I can study this weekend and give it my best for the next test!

  3. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I did all my homework on time and I even prepared for next week’s test a little bit. I have stayed on task this week and I also figured out all of my labs. I am so glad that Christmas break is so soon. Between work and school, I am ready for exams to be over. I will do my best these last couple of weeks. Hopefully, on this next test, I will better grasp the material.

  4. This week was a 3/5. i lack any focus at all which is making things hard. However, I really understand these concepts. The labs were a little tricky, but I think I managed it. I’m also putting more effort in my write-ups, so that I don’t leave anything out:)

  5. This week was a struggle for me as I’m having trouble keeping up the motivation with Christmas break so close. I still don’t feel confident with the problems in this chapter and the test is almost here. I have no choice but to be productive this weekend so I’ll definitely get some practice.

  6. I have no idea what to rate myself because this week was filled with really good highs and really bad lows. I did all the homework well and understood the questions. But the tests killed me and the labs were a huge struggle. I have air of work to do this weekend and I’m really nervous about the exams.

  7. I’d rate myself a 4/5 this week! I was happy with my test grade and all I need to do is work problems even more for Tuesday! I kept up with my work but I still need to go redo some. The labs were fun and I ended up kinda figuring them out on my own!

  8. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I suffered a severe lack of sleep this week due to my lack of time management. I have been staying up far too late, and it has been negatively impacting my quality of life. However, I was happy with my test grade, and I feel like I performed well on all the labs this week. I believe I have a decent grasp of this chapter, and I hope to do well on the next test.

  9. This week was a 5/5 in physics because I got an A on the test and was the most powerful haha, but its a 2/5 in the rest of my school life and just life in general because of how stressed and sleep deprived I am. I need this weekend!!

  10. This week was a 3/5 or 4/5 I really can’t decide. I was happy with my test grade because I did my best and I got all the problems right except for one! That’s a huge victory for me. Also, we finished our lab decently quickly. I am a bit behind on labs and homework so hopefully this weekend I will use my time wisely. Probably not, though, but what’s new? Maybe things will change and I will get more motivated!

  11. This week is a 3/5 for me. I’m not sure how to feel about my current state in the class. The test was fat oof, and I’m scared of the next test as I’m not sure my math is on par with everyone else. There are labs and hw I still need to do over the weekend so that is really worrying me. But where there’s a will, there’s away. It always looks bad at first, but I always find a way.

  12. This week was a 5/5. I got my first A on a physics test, and I am so proud of myself. I also am able to think through problems we haven’t seen before on my own. I’m so excited that I’m finally getting it. Hopefully, I can come back after the break with the same mindset
