Physics 11-19-19 The Work Energy Theorem & Conservation of Energy

PHYSICS: See?! I wasn’t kidding about the balancing rocks movement!

Great job today on making connections between work and energy! I think you’ll like using the work-energy theorem, it’ll save you some time and a couple of steps. Don’t forget about friction!

  1. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I felt that I grasped the new concepts fairly well. I was able to apply these concepts to complete the homework problems. Also, I have enjoyed the labs this week, especially the take-home lab. This lab gave me a tangible example of what a conversion between elastic potential energy and kinetic energy looks like. The lab today was a little more difficult because we had to somewhat improvise on the setup; however, we got the job done. I am not sure if this lab is due tomorrow or not, so I do not know if I need to do part 2 tonight or if it can wait. I am really enjoying the work problems especially when they incorpate concepts from previous chapters. They make me feel like I actually know what I am doing. I am also very excited for this upcoming loooooong break. Overall, this has been a good week.

  2. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. This week, I tried so hard to stay on top of my work, but I was not able to maintain a good lead on my obligations. I stayed up late, and I procrastinated my work heavily. However, once I got past my procrastination, I was able to put in the work that made me somewhat successful. I feel as though I did the best I have done on any physics test, and I feel as though I have revised a better method of studying for the class. I’ll be ready to get back to work after thanksgiving!

  3. This week has been a 2/5. I can’t seem to focus at all which makes problems with multiple steps even harder. I also can’t seem to jump around in my work when I hit a roadblock. Other than that, I seem to be grasping these new concepts which is a nice change. Maybe I’m just ready for the break.

  4. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I procrastinated so much, but somehow I managed to get most of my work done? I’m not really sure, all I know is that God really was with me this week! I am so excited to have thanksgiving break!!

  5. This week I would rate myself 4/5. Although I was up till 2 last night trying to finish school work, I think I did pretty well. At first I gave myself 3/5, but I went back and gave myself the extra star for not giving up and time management. I’m making some money, I’ve got my bonus points for English from the play, so I am feeling pretty good. AND I’m feeling really good because it’s time for THANKSGIVING BREAK!

  6. This week is a 5/5 for me. It was an absolute triumph. I never thought I’d make it through, but here I am right on the start of Thanksgiving break. I’m thankful that I wasn’t completely overwhelmed by everything. I have most of my assignments finished, so that’s good too. The lab today was very fun and it was a great way to close before break. I’ll see y’all December 2nd. Stay safe and rest well.

  7. I would rate myself a 1/5 this week because I have been unfocused and unwilling to do my homework and I feel very lost at the concepts. I’m very tired all the tine which is making all my issues worse. I totally need this week break so I can decompress and start bei an entire human again. I’m reallllllllllly tired.

  8. This week was a huge struggle for me with the workload I had. I did well on the labs we had but I’m really struggling with the concepts of this chapter. I feel like I began trying to get to Thanksgiving break instead of focusing on the new concepts and now I am behind. Luckily I have a whole week off where I can hopefully catch up to where I need to be!

  9. This week I rate myself a 3/5. I didn’t really understand some of the concepts from last unit, and since this unit is that unit but new words and more complicated…. send help. I’m having to do and redo my work, and Khan Academy isn’t even helping me understand. Catch me this week with my new glasses and the physics concepts book, a box of tissues and lots of chocolate… so much chocolate… too much chocolate?? (Is that possible? >.> )
Anyway… This is going to be a week of playing catch-up…. falling behind is the kiss of death… I always did like flirting with danger haha

  10. This week was ok. It was pretty stressful and I had trouble prioritizing everything. But on the bright side, I really enjoyed the labs this week! And with some extra help, I’m getting better at working the problems! (I’ve kept my homework so I can rework the ones I struggle with)

  11. I rate myself 1/5 for this week. I’ve gotten no sleep, procrastinated to the max, and have been stressed out overall. I am just exhausted and I didn’t know how to do a lot of the homework problems so I have to figure out that over the break so I can actually turn them in, and my group barely completed the roller coaster lab today. I’m desperately in need of this break man thank the Lord.

  12. This week I would rate myself a 2/5. I struggled with the homework loads this week not just this class but all my classes. With the break coming up I had a hard time motivating myself. However, I did enjoy the design challenge yesterday and I guess you could say all those Disney trips payed off. Have a good break!
