Physics 9-26-19 More Angular Projectiles & the Monkey-Hunter Problem

PHYSICS – Great job today working through the monkey-hunter problem!

Do the problems make more sense now? Don’t give up on the next set! They are tough, but you can do it!

If you need some inspiration – here are links to the Monkey-Hunter videos from class today:

  1. This week I rate myself a solid 3.7463/5. This rating is due to a multitude of factors. The biggest of those being my decent understanding of the material we have covered this week. I have paid attention in class and been able to grasp the concepts of projectile motion and apply my previous knowledge to the problems we have encountered. On the other hand, I have been rather lazy this week. This is not necessarily associated with school work but rather my home life. Of cours, entropy always holds true and my living spaces have been becoming messier and messier. I usually keep my living spaces quite clean and tidy, but I have been extremely reluctant to clean. This is also affecting my school life because becoming lazy in one area makes it much easier to become lazy in another. I plan to go home and get my act together by cleaning my living spaces and hopefully this will give me more urgency with doing school work as well. This has been a good week. I have being steadily learning that there is much more to life than strictly school, and I have been learning to enjoy it more and more. I hope to have a great finish to this term in physics.

  2. This week, I rate myself a 2.00 x 10^1 out of 5. I have been completing my assignments, but it feels like I am just not 100 percent grasping the concepts. Also, I can get answers to problems, but I am having trouble finding the way to show my work. Hopefully, through studying and practicing, my proficiency in vectors will increase, God willing. I need sleep SOOO bad, so my other issue this week has been poor time management. At least I made it to Friday 🙂

  3. This week I’m giving myself a 2/5. I have absolutely no grasp on yesterday’s concept, but maybe after we go over the homework everything will make more sense. I’m going to try and work some problems over the weekend for a review. I don’t want to put it off until the last minute.

  4. I would rate myself as 3/5. I was super confused this week. I miss 15 minutes of class, and I have no idea what’s going on. I had work for the first time this week, and I struggled with getting work done. I’m going to have to put in some good effort this weekend to catch up!

  5. This week was a kind of a disaster. At first, I thought I understood the problems. However, I now know that was a lie. I am having trouble understanding these concepts, but what is new? I’m sorry for being so negative!!! I will continue to try my best, even if my best is getting everything wrong. I will work hard on the homework this weekend and I think I have a chance at understanding. On a happier note, I’m super excited for the rocket lab!!! Yay!

  6. I’m driving the struggle bus. I think I know what I’m doing, but then I get to the homework problems and realize I’m literally getting them all wrong. But that’s okay, as long as I work on them at home. At least my ACT score went up!

  7. 🙁 So this week I rate myself a 2/5 because the whole week was a whole struggle. So I was ahead, but now I’m extremely confused and a lottle behind, because I have so many problems I need to rework… I would say I’m doing my best, but if we’re being honest, I’m not, so uhhhh… yeah, that’s that, time to try harder and focus better next week.

  8. I rate myself a like 0.0000001/5 this week cause I did not understand a thing. I could figure a little out but idk how or why. The concepts make since but the actual working do the problems do not. I’ve also been really tired and not able to catch up on sleep for the week. As a whole this week as not been going great. And I think until band season is over my time in school isn’t going to be enjoyable.

  9. This week I would rate myself 2.123456789 out of 5. On the homework assignment from Thursday I figured out number 59 and I was so proud of myself butttttttt… then I ran into number 62. This moment was God telling me “not so fast” you still need to work harder to fully grasp the motion problems. So here I am taking a break from my hw and writing this webpost.

  10. This week, I would rate myself a 3/5. I slacked off. I expected the problems to be easier than than the chapter 1 and 2 problems, so I didn’t try as hard. I also waited until very late to start my homework last night, and the rocket problem brought me some pain. Next week I’m going to try harder and make sure I get my work done. I’m also going to start working on my many labs that need to get done.

  11. This week is at least a 3.14159265359 out of 5. For one, I’m very concerned with the new concepts for this chapter. They seem a lot more complicated and it genuinely makes my brain hurt. On the other hand, I get to redo a test next week, so my grade average will go up (I hope.) I’ve had plenty of practice and it all makes sense now, so it should be a piece of Pi.

  12. This week was a struggle for me for sure. I understood the problems we were doing at the start of the chapter but on each consecutive homework I felt like I understood less and less of what was going on. To the point where Thursday night’s homework I could only do the ones with the formula that was provided. I’m hoping to take another try at Thursday’s homework so I can get back on track to be ready for the next test coming up. I also need to get a head start on my lab write ups.
