V = 65.169 36 cm3 (3 sig figs)
V = 65.2 cm3
Mass:
m = 95.137 g (5 sig figs)
Density:
D = m / V
D = 95.137 g / 65.2 cm3
D = 1.459 156 442 g/cm3 (must have 3 sig figs)
D = 1.46 g/cm3
Milky White Block:
m= 61.531 g
V= lxwxh
V= 10.8 cm x 5.212 cm x 1.2 cm
V= 67.54 cm3
D= m/V
D= 61.531 g / 67.54 cm3
D= 0.9110 g/cm3
Black Block:
V= (l)(w)(h)
V= 12.71 x 4.12 x 1.26
V= 65.98 cm3
M= 65.867 g
D= m/V
D= 65.867 g / 65.98 cm3
D= 0.99 g/cm3
Black Block:
V= (l)(w)(h)
V= 12.71 cm x 4.12 cm x 1.26 cm
V= 66.0 cm3
M= 65.867 g
D= m/V
D= 65.867 g / 65.98 cm3
D= 0.998 g/cm3
CORRECTION:
Black Block:
V= (l)(w)(h)
V= 12.71 cm x 4.12 cm x 1.26 cm
V= 66.0 cm3
M= 65.867 g
D= m/V
D= 65.867 g / 65.98 cm3
D= 0.998 g/cm3

Paper White block:
V=l x h x w
l = 4.19 cm
h = 8.81 cm
w = 1.81 cm
V= 4.19 cm x 8.81 cm x 1.81 cm
V= 66.8 cm3
mass = 38.420 g
Density= m/V
Density= 38.420 g / 66.8 cm3
Density of the paper white block = 0.575 g/cm3
Black block:
Volume:
V= l x w x h
V= 9.50 cm x 4.52 cm x 2.49 cm
V= 107 cm3
Mass:
110.372 g
Density:
D= m/V
D=110.372 g/ 107 cm3
D=1.03 g/cm3
Because my density is 1.03 g/cm3, it is most like the Beta block which has a density of 0.967 g/cm3
HEY EVERYONE!!!! we need to ID our blocks! So, say which one you think yours is!
Black Block:
V= (l)(w)(h)
V= 12.71 cm x 4.12 cm x 1.26 cm
V= 66.0 cm3
M= 65.867 g
D= m/V
D= 65.867 g / 65.98 cm3
D= 0.998 g/cm3
My prediction: since I got a density of 0.998 g/cm3, I predict that the block I have is the Beta block which has a density of 0.967 g/cm3.
CORRECTION
Milky White Block:
Mass:
m= 61.531 g
Volume:
V= lxwxh
V= 10.8 cm x 5.212 cm x 1.2 cm
V= 67.54 cm3
Density:
D= m/V
D= 61.531 g / 67.54 cm3
D= 0.9110 g/cm3
Milky White Block is Delta
L – Length, width, height sig figs?
CORRECTION:
I have a paper white block.
V=lwh
l=14.23 cm
w= 3.39 cm
h= 1.31 cm
V= 14.23 cm x 3.39 cm x 1.31 cm
V= 63.2 cm3
mass: 31.715 g
D= m/V
D= 31.715 g/ 63.2 cm3
D= 0.502 g/cm3
THEREFORE:
I think the paper white block is “Alpha” because the density of my block is the closest to the density of Alpha which is 0.541 g/cm3.
CORRECTION:
Gray Block:
Volume:
V= l x w x h
V= 7.32 cm x 3.31 cm x 2.50 cm
V= 60.57 cm3
Mass: 85. 673 g
Density:
D= m / V
D= 85.673 g / 60.57 cm3
D= 1.41 g/cm3
Since the density of my gray block is 1.41 g/cm3, I believe that my block is the Epsilon block because it has a density of 1.42 g/cm3.
Gray Block
Volume:
V = l x w x h
V = 10.17 cm x 5.34 cm x 1.20 cm
V = 65.169 36 cm3 (3 sig figs)
V = 65.2 cm3
Mass:
m = 95.137 g (5 sig figs)
Density:
D = m / V
D = 95.137 g / 65.2 cm3
D = 1.459 156 442 g/cm3 (must have 3 sig figs)
D = 1.46 g/cm3
ID of block: Epsilon
So, right now we have an ID for at least one of the blocks in each color.
I think the final answers are:
Alpha- paper white
Beta- black
Delta- milky white
Gamma- clear
Epsilon- gray
If you have any contradictions please let me know!!!
Correction:
Volume:
V= l x w x h
V= 3.10 cm x 2.35 cm x 8.10 cm
V= 59.0 cm3
Mass
m=70.50 g
Density:
D=m/V
D= 70.50 g/ 59.0 cm3
D= 1.19 g/cm3
Since the density of my block is 1.29 g/cm3, I believe that my block is the Gamma block because the gamma block has a density of 1.17 g/cm3 which is closest to my block.
correction to my correction:
I had the clear block!!!!
Volume:
V= l x w x h
V= 3.10 cm x 2.35 cm x 8.10 cm
V= 59.0 cm3
Mass:
m=70.50 g
Density:
D= m/V
D= 70.50g/ 59.0 cm3
D= 1.19 g/cm3
Since the density of my block is 1.19 g/cm3, I believe that my block is the Gamma block because the Gamma block has a density of 1.17 g/cm3 which is the closest to my block’s density value.
A – Mass sig figs?
clear block:
V= l x w x h
V=10.5 cm x 3.90 cm x 1.20 cm
V=49.1 cm3
m = 59.382 g
D= m/V
D= 59.382 g/49.14 cm3
D=1.17 g/cm3
my block is the gamma one
D – length sig figs?
I give myself 4 stars this week. I kept up and even got ahead in the technology assignment we did. I printed out worksheets and handouts ahead of time, too. I did not give myself five stars because I got a little confused and overwhelmed today. I couldn’t remember how to do certain parts of the technology assignment and fell a little behind in class.
This week, I would rate myself a 3/5 stars because I worked hard and did all of my work. Even though I understood and followed the assignments everyday, I struggled some with following the steps and I got confused and a little behind. I also did not do too great on the test, but I am ready to pick back up Monday and work harder!
This week I would rate myself a 3 out of 5 stars. I got all of my assignments done in class, and I kept up with all of my homework pretty well. I did not do as well on my test as I would have liked to. I will definently be studying harder for the next test so I can improve.
It should be HC1 instead of NCS
This week I would rate myself a 4 out of 5 on the entire week. I would give myself this rating because I did very good with time management, getting my school work done, and studying for tests and quizzes. However, there are probably some things that I could have done better, like paying more attention during Chapel.
