  1. This week, we got our tests back. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped, and I missed the final term grade I wanted by 2 points. I knew the material, but I ran short on time for the multiple choice section and didn’t get to work the problems in the MC (which sucks because I definitely knew how to do them!) I also neglected reading towards the end of the chapter because I was busy, so I am ready to get back to doing that with this chapter. I love the inertia chapter so far! I don’t know why, but it’s more interesting to me than the past chapter. I really enjoy it!

  2. I was just tickled to death this week when we got the test back because I did better than I could have hoped for! The first test was terrible, so I was bracing myself for the worst, but instead got a pleasant surprise! I still have room to improve, but I can for sure see the improvement and growth that I’ve had just between the first test and this one. I can confidently say that prayer truly makes a difference! Also, for this new chapter that we have started, though I was gone in class, I was able to watch the vodcast! I appreciate the shout-out Ms. Skinner! (and I do know that I am slow on getting out of class 🙂 ) I had some trouble with the take-home lab (but not because I was gone — just I’m paper-tearing challenged), but hopefully everything will flow smoothly from now on! Have a great weekend Ms. Skinner!

  3. This week, I was disappointed in my test grade. It is always the questions with the most obvious solutions that stump me. I find that I worry too much about the problems, when those are the things that I am best at. I need to focus more on the conceptual concepts that are presented in the multiple choice on future tests so that I can raise my grade significantly, as I always miss more than 10% of those. From this, though, I can build my problem-solving abilities, as I have identified my weaknesses in Physics.

  4. This week was a bit of a journey. I could have done better on the test, but I think it was mainly because I took too long on one problem. Next time I will need to manage my time better as well as practice the problems at home and time myself. I will be reviewing over past material to help me with current material. I think I know the material that we are learning right now but I will try even harder to make sure I know what I’m doing.

  5. The test we got back this week was really encouraging; I studied so much for it that when I got my grade back I was happy, but not completely content. I made a B, but I think if I had less careless mistakes on the math problems and only missed two multiple choice like I was supposed to, I would have gotten an A. I can’t wait for the next test since it will give me a chance to prove myself again. I had so much fun this week. Learning about forces as a scalar quantity and a measurable thing is so crazy! I never knew about inertia, and I don’t feel so ignorant about the world I live in now. I’m really excited about this chapter going forward.

  6. I felt pretty good about this test, but I made a lot of stupid mistakes. I need to improve my time management so that I don’t rush and skip simple steps. I am enjoying learning about inertia. So far it makes sense, and I hope it stays that way.

  7. This week has marked a major improvement in my physics school year. I scored a higher grade this time on my test . I still didn’t have time to do 2 out of the 6 problems so I really need to work on my time management and practices going more to do them faster. The inertia video that we watched in class was really interesting. It helped me grasp a bigger understanding of inertia and Newton’s first law. I was kinda shocked that the board broke when he hit it because all he had on it was a price of newspaper. I’m excited to watch more videos like this and I am already excited about doing something like that for explorer zone next semester

  8. This week we got our test back and it wasn’t good… I didn’t manage my time wisely which led me to having to rush at the very end. I have been getting better grades on my lab reports which is helping my grade survive. I just need to try harder this nine weeks and be more diligent in my work.

  9. I am very proud of my final grade in physics! Halfway through this nine weeks I got really discouraged because I wasn’t doing too well. I think I am better prepared for the next nine weeks because I know what mistakes I made in the past and how I can fix them next nine weeks!

  10. Well, this is a great way to start off the second quarter–looks like I forgot to submit a webpost! Better late than never I guess, so here it goes! This past week, one day of school for me, was made up of a mixture of feelings. Normally, when I feel bad about a test, I end up actually doing better than I think. That was not the case this time, but now I know that the true problem is a little thing called TIME MANAGEMENT (something that I heard A LOT about when I was on my college visit). As we were reviewing the test, I realized that, had I enough time to finish, I probably would have had a good chance of getting more problems right. At least I know that there’s not too big of an understanding gap, so that’s encouraging! Also, I was very excited to see that my grade was not totally sunk because of this test! Thankfully the other test and the extra credit helped even things out! My goal for the next test and the rest of the year, is to really master time management, because I know that it is an extremely valuable skill.

  11. This week in Physics was great! I was able to easily catch up on the material that I missed last week, and I feel pretty good about my understanding of inertia, forces/force vectors, and Newton’s First Law. I’m really glad that we took everything a bit slower this week in class so we could really nail down these basic concepts. My group and I efficiently handled the design challenge, and although our methods weren’t the most scholarly or scientific, they were creative and successful! However, we are having a bit of trouble in our inertia lab group…I know it is supposed to be easy, but i think we are overthinking things a little too much. Hopefully we will be able to figure out and correct our mistakes the next time we work on it!
