Chemistry 8-15-18 Measuring Mass & Volume

CHEMISTRY: Did you remember about massing with a balance and measuring volume with a graduated cylinder?

If you need a quick tutorial, here are some of the tips from today – some reminders on how to read the instruments and how far out you carry your measurements, etc.

Both the mass and volume measurements are due by Friday. I’ll be at school by 7:45 if, you’d need to come finish up. Also, don’t forget the tons of questions at the end of the packet!

  1. the lab was good and i rate myself at a 3 out of 5 because i thought i did well when measuring both mass and volume

  2. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I rate myself a 3/5 because I missed a homework assignment that I should not have missed. I enjoyed the labs especially the labs with massing and finding volume with the use of the graduated cylinder.

  3. The lab was good. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I gave myself that rating because of the fact that I got done with things on time and I understood almost all of what we were doing.

  4. In this week of chemistry, I relearned how to light a Bunsen burner. I learn how to careful in lab and what to do in an emergency. I learned to get the accurate measure of a graduated cylinder and centigram balance. I would rate this week a 4/5. I understood the rules of the lab

  5. This week in Chemistry, I learned how to accurately measure volume and mass with a graduated cylinder and centigram balance. I learned how to light a Bunsen Burner. I also learned how to be safe in the lab while doing experiments. I rate this week 4/5 because I did everything correctly and when I was supposed to.

  6. The lab was good this week. I learned how to light a bunsen burner and what do to if an accident happens and still stay safe. I also relearned how to use accurately measure mass using a graduated cylinder and centigram balance. I believe I did everything correctly so I rate this week 4/5.

  7. This week in Chemistry I learned How to light the Bunsen burner safely. I also learned the importance of lab safety when working in the lab. This week had its challenges, but I am so happy that my lab partner and I could figure things out and work as a team. I rate Myself a 3/5 this week because I did not do things perfectly but at least I tried.

  8. So far this week I have learned to light a Bunsen burner and how to evaporate liquids. As I go on this year I expect to learn many other important lessons and improve my knowledge of science. Chemistry will teach me how to do more experiments in lab which can help me later on

  9. What do I expect to learn from Chemistry this year?
I expect to learn about the elements in a fresh way by actually getting hands on in the lab. I will more than likely learn a little more about the deeper biological reasoning to the world around me. Most importantly, I believe that I will learn how to manage my time much more accordingly due to the already semi-rigorous work.

  10. This year in chemistry I hope to learn how to improve my study habits and to find out how chemistry relates to everyday life.

  11. What do I expect to learn in/from Chemistry?
I expect to learn how to measure mass accuracy and how to mix chemicals properly without damaging my skin.

  12. I rate myself 3/5 on this week’s labs because I learned a lot and got to phsyically test things. What do I expect to learn in chemistry? I expect to learn things to help me for the rest of the year in chemistry and for other classes in the future.

  13. I rate myself 3/5 on this week’s labs because I learned a lot and got to phsyically test things. What do I expect to learn in chemistry? I expect to learn things to help me for the rest of the year in chemistry and for other classes in the future.

  14. I rate myself a 4/5 for this week because I struggled with the evaporating lab, but I think i did pretty well on the lab equipment quiz and the lab safety test. In Chemistry this year, I hope to learn how to apply everything i’m learning to something in the real world.
