Hon Chemistry 1-24-18 Electron Configuration & Blocks of the Periodic Table

HON CHEMISTRY: Wow! You learned a lot today! Don’t we serve an awesome God?!? You probably knew the periodic table was really organized, but did you realize that it was THAT organized? Awesome!

Practice what you’ve learned!! You’ll get the hang of it and be as laid back as this “noble” fellow in no time! 😉

  1. So a struggle for me this week was understanding the material. I was pretty confused with the concept but I think I sort of get it now. Hopefully it all works out!!

  2. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I understood the notes yesterday, but I struggled with the notes on Monday. I think I’m starting to get the concept now, but we’re going to see what happens.

  3. A struggle for me this week was time management for the lab we did today. I read the lab, but once we got into the room, I did the lab very slowly and did not get things done quickly and efficiently. This made the lab stressful towards the end. Next time I will talk to my lab partner so we can be prepared for the lab beforehand.

  4. This week I rate myself 4/5. I understood all of the notes we took and I am very proud! I loved the lab we did today, it was the most fun! I am ready for the test! I also found out that I have a niche for using the spectrometer.

  5. A triumph this week was understanding everything about orbitals and their notation. I was really trying to pay close attention and take in as much as possible. Hopefully I can apply it all on the test! (And the trick you taught us about electron configuration was really cool)

  6. Oh boy. This week was a LOT. We had so much information to learn especially because of the snow days it added a bit more pressure to get everything caught up and stuff. I’d like to think I kept up pretty well though so I’ll give myself a cool 3.5/5. Emma and I finished our lab first somehow even though we had to redo at least three different elements so I think that’s good? I liked the lab a lot actually so I hope so.

  7. I rate myself a 3/5 this week because I did all my homework and the did well on the lab but I feel like I need more practice to understand the newer stuff. I plan to finish my lab and homework and start studying for the test this weekend.

  8. This week a struggle was trying to keep up with everything we learned because it was so much information. I just need to make sure I study a lot for this test. But the flame test lab was really cool!!

  9. This week it was a struggle keeping all the new information straight. We also had a hard time reading the spectrometer in this lab.

  10. Because there was so much new information to learn this week, it has gotten a bit stressful. Studying all of this info is going to be very time-consuming to do well on the test. Other than that, I think this week went well.
