Chemistry 11-30-17 Molecular Formulas

CHEMISTRY: Hey guys! Awesome job with empirical formulas, and now you’ve conquered writing molecular formulas! Here’s the lecture for Thursday. It’s just like writing empirical formulas but with a twist at the end!

By the way, if you’d like some practice or if you have questions, holler and we can have a help session!

We are getting very close to the end of the chapter! Have you started preparing for the test? It will be over ALL of chapter – plus the small bit from chapter 3. Be sure and checked out the Stuff to Know sheet for all of chapter 7 on Edline!

  1. This week in chemistry I would rate myself a 4/5. At first, i was struggling with the empirical and molecular formulas but once I continued to practice and do my homework they got easier.

  2. This week I would rate myself a 5/5. I feel like I triumphed at working on my homework. I feel like I did well at taking notes and paying attention in class.

  3. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week I feel like I have taken good notes but I am having some trouble with the new formulas.

  4. I did well in learning how to use molecular formulas along with empirical formulas because I had been reminded of the Q formula and it felt like math to me in some ways. I still need to work on it though but I feel confident that I can apply it and know what to do with it when trying to find the elements formulas. I rate myself this week as 3.5.

  5. This week was a 4.5/5 for me. Everything we’ve learned so far has clicked with me pretty well. I especially think that the Empirical and Molecular formulas aren’t too hard to understand. It’s just getting into the habit of it that takes time. Work is piling up though. I’m losing sleep.

  6. I rate this week a 4/5. At first I was a little confused about all the formulas and thought I was doing them wrong but once we did the homework I actually got them all right! Now I must start studying for the test!

  7. Triumph-this week, empirical and molecular formulas clicked with me. I was able to get through the homework easily by remembering what we had done in the past with moles and applying it to the new formulas. I have also figured out a better way to study so my test score will improve!

  8. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I understood everything we learned this week. I need to start working more problems for more practice on the test. This weekend I’m gonna start studying, I really wanna do well on this test! Overall, it was a pretty chill week in Chemistry! We definitely missed you, Ms. Skinner!

  9. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I understand the notes we took and have started on my thLab so I don’t have to do it all this weekend.
