Physics 11-7-17 Net Vertical Force

PHYSICS: Great job on the Newton’s Law Photography Project! I love watching you apply what you’ve learned to your everyday life. My favorite part of physics! 🙂

Also, good start with net vertical force! Don’t you think it’s the same as horizontal – just turned 90 degrees? Since you guys had to leave early, here is the entire lesson from last year.

And I still don’t know what’s so funny about a fish in an elevator!?! (You’ll get that later!) 😉

  1. This week in Physics was particularly short for me! For the time that I spent in clsss, I would rate myself a 4 out of 5 stars because I understood all of the problems and I was able to work through all of the problems on the review worksheet. Matthew and I have begun to design our coefficient of friction lab, and I am going to review newtons laws before the test Tuesday. Hopefully next week we will be able to get lots accomplished!

  2. This week in physics I would rate myself a 4/5 because I feel like I better understand the material now. A triumph of the week would be getting all the practice problems right. A struggle of this week would be just trying to figure out how to set up all the problems at first.

  3. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week just because I struggled a little with the review worksheet last night. I didn’t know to ignore friction on a couple of them, and I drew another one wrong. I’m going to practice more this weekend to get more efficient at setting up the problems and being able to start working quickly without getting stuck. Other than the review worksheet, I did well on all of the homework and found an interesting science in the news so it was overall a good week.

  4. This week in physics has been fun yet hard. All this week we have worked on the math behind the physics of forces. Although I have grasped the concept behind it all I need to make sure I work on not making careless mistakes. This weekend I’ll be designing our next lab and studying hard for the test!

  5. This week in physics has been interesting. I would have to rate myself a 4/5 because I feel like I’m doing really good on the problems. I also feel good about all the conceptual problems when we went over them. I did struggle a little on the big problem we worked today, but I feel like I can get the hang of it before the test. I’m going to study hard this weekend and I feel like I will do good on the test next week.

  6. This week I would rate myself a 4 out of 5. We mainly went over working problems and going over concepts this week. I feel like I have most of the concepts down except for a few. On Thursday I was a little confused about one or two of the concepts but I’m going to try and get them down. I feel pretty comfortable with all of the problems but I’m going to work plenty of them to make sure I am good with them.

  7. This week in physics I would have to rate myself a 2 out of 5 because we have a test coming up and I am still struggling but I am going to keep practicing to bring my confidence up and feel better about this. I am getting better every day but still, am struggling with some of the concepts and harder problems. I will just keep working hard and make sure I get these down.
