Chemistry 11-2-17 Chemical Formulas with Polyatomic Ions

CHEMISTRY: Great job today! Do you understand better now? Remember it’s like baby steps, first binary ionic compounds, and now, formulas with polyatomic ions. Begin learning them now! And practice, practice, practice!!

Another great idea, click here for a copy of the Hints for Naming Chemical Formulas Flow Chart, or find it under the Worksheet/Handouts Tab. Follow it every time you name chemical formulas!!

  1. This week is a 5/5 for me. This new chapter about chemical formulas isn’t too bad so far. Not to mention I got an amazing grade on the conservation of mass lab! I still need to manage time constraints and the stress that comes with it. More labs up ahead will get me into the cycle.

  2. I rate myself a 5/5 for this week. I did fairly well on the test, did good on the critical thinking activity and also well on my lab. I need to find out ways I can study better to make sure I get good greats on all my test and find out where I’m struggling. I have been doing pretty well with time management this week too. Looking forward to another great week in Chemistry!

  3. this week i would rate myself a 4/5 because I understand how to write a chemical formula, but i feel like i still can continue to get better at it, and also continue to work on learning the polyatomic ions

  4. This week in Chemistry, I rate myself a 4.5/5! I was really happy with my test score and I was super thrilled about my Conservation of Mass lab grade! I really like this new chapter we’re learning; it’s very easy to follow. I’ve been studying for the polyatomic ions quiz, so hopefully my hard work will pay off! I can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

  5. This week is chemistry was tough for me because I did not fully understand all of the stuff that was covered this week. I completed all of my homework and started studying for the ion quiz next week.

  6. This week I am rating myself a 5/5, because I already knew everything we did this week. Plus I find making these formulas fun.

  7. I would rate myself 5/5 this week because I took good notes that will help me study for the next test. Also I am starting to understand how to write a chemical formula. I did very well on the online chemical review and finished it on the first try.

  8. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I did well on everything this week and I think I am understanding chapter 7 so far.

  9. This week I would rate myself a 5/5 because I understood the chemical formulas and took good notes. Also, I did well on the chemical formula review and understood the homework.

  10. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week, I fell like I did well on taking notes but need to focus more on memorizing the polyatomic ions and practice on writing chemical formulas.

  11. I rate this week a 4/5. I learned the material quickly and found writing chemical formulas easy. I am also ahead because I have already memorized a good portion of the polyatomic ions.

  12. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I understand the formulas. I just need to memorize the polyatomic ions better.

  13. I rate myself a 2/5 this week. I do not really understand polyatomic ions, so I will need to study all weekend for the quiz Wednesday. This week has been rather stressful so I hope next week goes better.

  14. For this week, I would rate myself a 4/5. I really understood the new chemical formulas and know how to work them out. I also did all the homework ALMOST all correctly! Also, when we did the wipe boards, I got them all right and knew how to ask all the questions throughout the formula.

  15. This week i rate myself a 3/5. I started off tripping over my own feet by not knowing the memorization at first. About the middle of the week I had my stuff together and felt like I had the forumlas down. By friday I knew exactly what I was doing.

  16. I would rate this week 5 out of 5. I relearned polyatomic ions and how to write them with other ions. I did great job on the online chemical formula review. I have been taking better notes and having examples. I think I understood the homework perfectly.

  17. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. I understood the chemical names and formulas questions very well. Planning on studying hard for my polyatomic ions quiz wednesday.

  18. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I kind of understand the polyatomic ions but I know I need to study more. I will make sure to study a lot more for the quiz.

  19. I would rate myself a 5/5 for this week. I understood poyotomic ions very. Also I did very well on the homework and the computer activity we did today in class.

  20. This week I’d rate myself a 4/5. I feel like I’ve triumphed at paying attention in class and studying the polyatomic ions and charges.

  21. this week i rate myself a 4/5. the polyatomic ions are easier to memorize than i thought. this chapter is going to be hard, but if i stay ahead i know i will do well.

  22. I rate myself 4/5. I struggled on the homework this week but I triumphed on taking notes and the that little thingy online. Cause I did well on it. I feel ok ab the poly atomic ions and charges.

  23. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. I understood the notes we took. I have also started to study for the poly atomic ions quiz next week. I have also memorized the chargers for each group. The computer exercise we did today was pretty easy.

  24. This week I was good at being proactive. I had many projects, quizzes, and tests this week, but I was able to stay on task. I’m a bit nervous about the memorization quiz next Wednesday, but it just motivates me to study harder!

  25. I would rate myself a 5/5 for this week! I did really well on polyatomic ions! I think I’m gonna have trouble remembering everything for the test!

  26. This week I would rate myself a 5/5! It was a fairly laid back week and I’m starting to get the Chemical equations. When the test comes around I know I will have to study more than usual before hand because it is a lot of information to know.

  27. This week I rate myself a 5/5 everything this week came easy to me for the most part it was a review I didn’t struggle at all this week and I feel confident that I will do go with the ions
