Hon Chemistry 5-3-17 Gas Laws

HON CHEMISTRY: Our first look at the gas laws: Boyle’s law, Charles law. No audio on the vodcast, so here’s a blast from the past. And you get a bonus – Gay-Lussac’s law. These guys did great work – and you’ve got to love their hair!!

Be sure you use Kelvin in the problems – not Celcius. And make double dog sure you use the formulas correctly! Rearrange that thing – no plug and play!!

  1. This week in chemistry has been a struggle. Each day I think I understand what we are learning, but then I try and do the homework and realize I am completely lost. I am trying to work hard by using my notes, the book, and vodcasts while doing homework. Other than that, its been a good week.

  2. This week I rate myself 3/5. I have done ok on the homework, but am still adjusting to the new problems.

  3. This week in Chemistry I would rate myself a 4/5 stars. This weekend I need to practice more gas law problems and conceptual things. When I did my homework, all of the formulas and laws kind of ran together, so I need to organize my notes on what each law says and the formulas for them; however, I feel like I did well keeping up with notes we took during class this week. I found the activities we did with the balloon and the ivory soap today very interesting, and I am already thinking of conceptual questions that will be on the test.

  4. This week I would rate myself 4/5 stars. I think I did pretty good on the test, except that I know I missed one of the written problems. I feel like I really understand this lesson in class. I missed a few homework problems but I understand what I did wrong. I’m also getting most of the concepts which is usually what I really struggle with, but I feel like I’m doing better this lesson.

  5. I need to practice more on working with the math problems than I do with conceptual stuff. I get the formula’s mixed up so I need to practice memorizing them. I feel like this week has gone good and I’m ready to get my test back! I’d rate myself a 4/5 this week.

  6. This week I would rate myself 4/5 stars. I just saw what I made on the chapter 9 test on edline, and I am so happy! I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but I did a lot better than I could have ever thought. However, I feel like I am a little behind on the concepts we are learning right now. I understand, yet I am getting some homework questions wrong and don’t feel like I am getting this chapter as much as I usually do. So, this weekend, I am going to look over the vodcasts to see what I am missing. Looking forward to nest week!

  7. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I achieved in understanding a lot of the notes this week and am able to do the problems. I struggled because of some of the wording in the problems that mess me up. I am going to keep practicing problems and reviewing notes so I will do good on the next test.

  8. This week I would rate myself a 2/5 stars. I did not prepare well this week and it felt stressful and tiring. I would have been avoided if I was a more diligent worker. I really need to stop procrastinating and work ahead more. I have a really hard time understanding the gas laws even though I find the math part of it easy. I will need to read the book to see what I don’t understand and ask questions about it.

  9. I would rate myself a 4/5 stars. I did well on the test and felt like I prepared for it well. I understand the math from this current chapter… but I am struggling on the concepts a little bit. I will rewatch some of the vodcasts so I can be prepare for the test πŸ™‚

  10. This week I rate myself 3/5. I have done alright on the homework, but I’m still somewhat struggling with the new problems and learning all the types.

  11. I would rate my self 4/5 stars this week. I was prepared for the test and did pretty good. Although I’ve been a little confused on the concepts in class (or watching the vodcasts), I understood them great on homework, except I have to rework them because I forgot to convert to kelvins.

  12. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I think I’m understanding the new material and the new problems

  13. This week I would rate myself 4/5 stars. I am understanding the homework practice problems very well, and I think I know the concepts of the chapter well enough to apply them on the test. Also, I am very pleased with my test grade, and hopefully my next test will be a similar grade!

  14. This week I rate myself a 5/5. I did well keeping up with homework and I made a really good study guide for the test so I felt like I did really good.
