Physics 8-30-16 Emily & the Tortoise and the Hare

PHYSICS: Great work on the tortoise and the hare problem and the Emily problem! I like the way you were thinking and discussing today. Now go see if you can do them from scratch!

  1. I rate myself only a 2 out of 5 for this week. I am struggling very badly with exporting a journal and saved work in SPARKvue. I also did not do very well on the advanced velocity problems. Though I got some of them right, I did not necessarily work them all correctly. After I went back over them, I was able to do a little better; however, I need to practice quite a bit more before my test.

  2. I give myself a 3 out of 5 for this week. I originally got 2 problems right on the homework, but when i reworked them i got all but 1. When I worked them the second time, i got them all right without looking back at the solution. I think I did well at not getting frustrated with it even though I struggled. I also struggled with saving my work in sparkvue. I had to start over after it failed to save, but I learned it is a must to save it in google drive in the process.

  3. Well, I was honestly planning on giving myself like a 2 or three this week, but that changed. After you talked to us about how we deserved 6 out of 5, I realized that you were right. I am going to give myself a 5 out of 5 the week. Though the week was the toughest and most frustrating yet, I persevered and kept an open mind through it all. With the velocity problems, I just powered through and kept redoing the problems until I was able to repeatedly get them right. Now, I am rather confident that I could do pretty well on a test with those types of problems. In regards to SPARKvue and Capstone, I haven’t been convinced about the usefulness of them yet, but I can see the potential in them and will keep an open mind.

  4. I give myself a 5 out of 5 for this week because I was able to deal with Sparkvue and being one day behind. I was really frustrated, and I was really tired of dealing with technology. I was really proud of myself for not giving up on it even though I wanted too. On the homework I did pretty well, and I got most questions right the first time. I am looking forward to more problem solving in class and less Sparkvue stuff.

  5. This week, I give myself a 4/5. The week started and ended with difficulty, but many of my “failures” were successes in disguise. I had so much trouble doing velocity problems, so I practiced them a ton. Because of my efforts, I now think I can do these problems with ease. SPARKvue refused to work, but it helped us to understand Capstone.
