Chemistry 1-13-16 Applications of Radioactivity

CHEMISTRY: Radioactive isotopes all around! Did you ever dream there were so many applications of radioactivity? Thanks for the great job on adding to the lecture! This is a pic of a test used to check on blood flow through the heart during a stress test. Fun, huh!? Click on the link below the pic to learn more from Cedars-Sinai hospital.

Here’s the lecture from today – applications of radioactive isotopes. We’ll finish more applications and then fission and fusion tomorrow. Have you checked out the Chapter 21 Stuff to Know & Study Suggestions sheet on Edline?

  1. This week I give myself a 5/5 because I’ve done a lot better understanding half life problems and equations. Also radioactivity is a lot more easy to understand compared to everything that we’ve learned in the past.

  2. I understand how todo half life problems much better that last week. The problems in which you are to find the half life I get them right most of the time now. I now understand the steps and how you find the answer but, also why you solve that way. Nuclear equations have become a breeze. Though I am still having trouble with the emission kind and know which why the equation is suppose to go.
