Physics 1-7-16 Collision Problems & Bouncing

PHYSICS: Here’s a new way to study collisions! Somebody’s having way too much fun with veggies!

Great job with the problems today in class – are you ready to crank it up a bit? Here’s a hint – check for connections between the conservation of momentum and the conservation of energy. You can do it!

  1. I rate my week as a 3/5. I’m still struggling a bit to get all my equations set up on these momentum problems. Its easy to get a wrong sign when considering velocities from different directions. I’ll have to be more careful to avoid accidentally adding when I need to subtract (or vice versa).

  2. This week i enjoyed learning about momentum and why objects react like they do when a force is applied in order to conserve momentum. I also enjoyed the demonstrations and watching the bouncy balls.
