HON CHEMISTRY: Well, here it is, the last of the lectures from chapter 8. A couple of things – make sure you’ve memorized the activity series, but just as importantly, make sure you know how to use it! Those guidelines I gave you in class should really help. Now, lets go out and see if you can apply what you’ve learned!

Balancing chemical equations is so much easier now! The new thing to work on is remembering the activity series and applying it to single-replacement reactions. Cool week!
Does anyone have a good way to memorize the activity series? I tried to look up a mnemonic but couldn’t find anything.
Seeing how what we have learned explains things we see everyday is so cool! I especially enjoyed the reaction of potassium chloride today in class. That was a really neat application!
I think the help session really helped me this morning balancing the chemical equations because they get frustrating when you can’t figure them out.
