CHEMISTRY: Isn’t God awesome to give us minds to understand the world around us – even the parts we can’t see!
Here are the last of the notes of how scientists discovered the parts of an atom. Make sure you know the name of the scientists, the name of their experiments, be able to draw a diagram of their experiment, and describe how they interpreted the experimental results that led to their discoveries. By the way, don’t forget about the video clips that I want you to watch! Click here for the video on the Cathode Ray Tube Experiment that Thompson did, and also for the video clips that I want you to watch on The Discovery of the Electron and The Discovery of the Nucleus. All of these will be great tools in studying for the test!
Calculators tomorrow!!
🙂
CHEMISTRY 12-4-13 Structure of the Atom, Pt. 2 from Tammy Skinner on Vimeo.
I didn’t know Germans were the first ones to split an atom.
I didn’t know Germans were the first ones to discover splitting an atom.
I can’t believe Otto Hahn took the credit of splitting an atom from Lise Meitner.
Is the Mini Project counted as a test grade?
The atoms are very interesting the way they can be split it makes a huge boom (the atom bomb) Hiro Shima
I cant believe that the Germans were the first ones who discovered splitting an atom.
I like learning about atoms, its very interesting.
The learning of splinting atoms, and the history of how it was discovered is pretty cool
These videos are going to be very helpful for me to catch up on the days I have missed.
I thought it was interesting that Otto Hahn took credit for splitting the atom.
Wow this week has been quick! This atoms thing is confusing.
Thank you for posting this! It really helped me understand atom much more!
We have learned a lot this week. I can’t believe atoms are that small!
Liked the corn kernel lab this week!
I don’t see how there are so many atoms on the head of a straight pen because the pen head is so small!!
It’s amazing how small atoms are, and we are able to see them!
I found it interesting that the Protons plus the Neutrons equals the mass number.
By doing the mini project, I think it will help me to understand Protons and Neutrons better.
I think it is very interesting how multiple people discovered the different parts of an atom, instead of just one scientist.
It’s crazy that we’re able to see something as small as an atom is!
It is cool how we understand atoms since we can’t even see them.
I am very thankful you post videos and class videos but i study all i can i watch all the videos and i go over your study guide but i still struggle on your test
