Technology 101.2 – Weekend Update

Wow! What a crazy day yesterday – but it was good! We actually got a lot accomplished. I just re-synced all students to your class’s Google Drive Dropbox folder. All but a few students are now shared. There are also new/updated Technology 101.2 instructions for you – click here or on the Worksheets tab.

When you write your lab, be sure and drag the file (or right click and move it) to the Shared Dropbox folder!

If you are one of the few that still don’t see a Dropbox folder when you click on “Shared with me”, just follow the instructions on the sheet and share your class folder with me that way.

FOR CHEMISTRY: Info on labs (answers to questions that I’ve received)

  1. Yes – you ALWAYS do all the questions on labs.
  2. Always to the extension on thLABs, but if you are not sure, ASK! This time, the extension on the Density of Oil lab will count as extra credit.
  3. The actual masses of the coins can be found on the Internet. Google it!!
  4. Yes, you find your percent error on each coin – make sure you show your work with formula and units!!

Holler if you have any other questions. Have fun with your labs!!

  1. On the technology101.2 under writing up your lab, do you want us to scan in the safety rules and lab apparatus into the document with our labs? If you do, which rules and apparatus?

  2. Oh and by the way, you might want to let the students know that if you already bookmarked/pinned the chemistry website to your desktop before we knew the name format for posting webposts that you need to put the right name format “Weslyn W C2” and then re-bookmark/pin the page. because it will continue to keep the previous name you had when you originally bookmarked/pinned it. Just a tip! I made that mistake!

    • Weslyn – Thank you for that tip! Great info to pass along! (BTW – I changed your name on the other post!) 🙂

  3. Since we don’t have lab partners for the take home labs, do you still want us to enter our lab partner’s name or just leave it out?

    • Austin – You would leave it off, but if you already included it and you’ve already sent in your lab, you don’t have to try to change it!

  4. Thank you for clearing that up about to post lab questions! Do you want us to turn in the corrected one or are we not allowed to change what we’ve already turned it?

  5. I finally got my my work to show up on Google Drive. I had to redo the work in paint. I originally did the work in pencil which is not consistent in color because it is shiny. If I had done the work with an ink pen ,which I don’t usually use because of there inability to erase, would have had better results when scanned and sent to Google drive.
