CHEMISTRY – Hey guys, here’s the lecture from Tuesday on the scientific method. I know you’ve heard it for umpteen years, but make sure you can APPLY what you’ve learned about the scientific method.
You’ll have your chance to practice with Mythbusters tomorrow and Ooblek on Thursday. Make sure you print and read BOTH the Mythbusters sheet tomorrow and the Oobleck lab sheet on Thursday – and be sure and bring them to class!
CHEMISTRY 8-20-13 The Scientific Method from Tammy Skinner on Vimeo.
I really enjoyed learning about the ways we use the scientific method in our daily lives.
Why according to the laws of physics can a hummingbird not fly
At the end of the myth busters video, i was wondering if gunfire can’t make the man fly off the seat then what can?
Would the dummy have exploded if the full bottle of gun powder was used?
For drawing the diagram, can we draw how the experiment was set up?
I enjoyed Mythbusters today. I hope we can do more.
I enjoyed learning how we use the scientific method every day and I didn’t realize how often we use it every day
The Mythbusters video was cool.
Oobleck lab was great today! everyone ask to see Taylor Churchwell’s paper!
The oobleck experiment today was cool. I really enjoyed it!

Ms Skinner, what ingredient in the Oobleck experiment made the oobleck turn into a solid-liquid formula?? Thank you. 🙂
Cecelia – Remember, I told you in class today!
By the way – Notice how I changed your name. Don’t put your name in the body of the comment, instead put it in the box where your name goes.:)
Today in the oobleck experiment, we used a perfect amount of oobleck powder and oobleck solution… but if we added more of the solution, would the powder be too diluted to function? Or would the resulting mixture just be a runnier version of the regular oobleck?
Today in the oobleck lab, if we had time to let the oobleck set for an hour or so would it become thicker?
In the Oobleck experiment today, why did it turn into a liquid when we picked it up?
If the Oobleck was kept overnight would it have dried out?
I enjoyed the Oobleck experiment today.
I really enjoyed playing with the oobleck today. I liked seeing how it turned into a solid when I pulled it apart and how it quickly liquified right after that!!
What inside the Oobleck made it come back together after we cut it?
I really enjoyed the oobleck experiment today, especially cutting it.
Will you always post your lectures online, or do you do that just to get us started?
