CHEMISTRY: Great job in lab this week! Wow – you’ve learned a lot!! Don’t forget that the entire Exp A-1 packet (including observations for all of the procedures you did as well as all of the questions on pages 14 – 20) is due Monday. You don’t have to answer the observations for the parts that we did not do.
By the way, NOW is the time to study for your test! In addition to the lab safety packet, don’t forget to study all the lab apparatus – be able to identify it all and know what all the apparatus is used for (including the parts of the balance and the Bunsen burner). I’ll also ask you about safety control equipment and where it’s found in the lab. Also, make sure you can draw and label diagrams for filtering, boiling, evaporating, and heating intensely. Don’t forget the earlier posts/slide shows with that info. BTW – Here’s a review of the Bunsen burner and how to light it. All of these VERY helpful for the test!!
As for the skills you’ll need for the test, make sure you can measure volume, measure mass, and light a Bunsen burner. Good luck studying! You can do it!! I’ll be praying for you this weekend!
Do we need to also know how to read a label on a reagent bottle? Also, I loved the lab today!
I enjoyed the labs this week!

I enjoyed last week’s labs.
When do books need to be covered?
I was talking to my dad about the experiment you showed us with the penny, and he told me his company sells and services fume hoods. He explained to me how they operate and how they are controlled. It was really interesting.
