Hey Guys! I neglected to give you the first part of the instructions to find the Graphing Exercise when I put the instructions on your syllabus. Here is what the first part should have said:
Go to the graph link on Edline (it’s in the Contents section) or on the chemistry website (it’s on the Graphing Helps link under Chemistry Tutorials”) and review the instructions on constructing a line graph. Next, at the bottom left of the page, click on the link to “Practice for Graphing and Interpreting Data.” Review the notes on Scientific Graphs.
Now, you can continue the instructions on your syllabus. BTW – notes on making paper graphs and graphs on Excel are on that page also. Holler if you have any questions.

Graphing is so much more complicated than I thought it would be. There are so many details that you have to get right and things that you have to put in the right place, or the graph is wrong.
Thats why you take Computer class your first year of high scool =P.
Murry: I know right! Anyway, I just wanted to say that those websites with the worksheets and review games on them really helped me study! I am definitely going back to them for future tests!
I agree with the review games. I was some what ok with my test grade… Not the best but not the worst. I just hope I can figure out how to study for the next test.
this graphing exercise really helped me understand better how to graph charts and how to decide what is the dependent and independent variables!
On the graphing exercise, we are supposed to answer the questions. Some of the questions say to graph. Will those graphs be on a separate sheet of graph paper? How many graphs should we have total?
Lauren – These are great questions! Go back and read the Graphing Exercise on the back of the syllabus. All the information you need is there. Good luck with it!
Thank you so much!! I understand it now!!
For Question D, do we find the volume of all the data under the 1-5 minutes column?
Rachel – Just so everyone can know, I’ll answer you here also. They measured the amount of oxygen that was in the tube each minute and recorded it. So to find the total amount produced, you just add up all the tubes at the last time – 5 minutes.
For our first graph, would you accept it if it wasnt on graph paper? I did it and then realized it was supposed to be on graph paper and I dont think I have graph paper at home.
Juliet – The first one needs to be one that you draw because I’ve got to make sure that you can do that. You can find graph paper online that you can print off. You can use that if you don’t have any at home. Hope that helps! Good luck! 🙂
