Can you believe it! Here’s the last lecture from Chemistry 08-09! Just a brief overview of fission and fusion.

Good luck studying for the laaaaaaaaaast chapter test of the year! I’ll be praying for you!! Did you think the day would ever come! Be careful and don’t take the test for granted. Make sure you practice half-life problems and nuclear equations. Also, make sure you’ve memorize the nuclear symbols for alpha particles, beta particles, positrons, neutrons, and protons. And then there are tons of notes on the conceptual stuff. Properties of radioactivity, people, types of radioactive decay, applications of radioactivity, definitions, definitions, and definitions! Practice! And did I mention, PRACTICE!!

Wow! You guys are the GREATEST!! Thanks to you, ExploreZone was a HUGE success! The elementary kids loved it and the high school did too! Everywhere I went, I saw faces with smiles and surprise and awe. You worked so hard, and it paid off. A special thanks to all of you who stayed late Wednesday setting up and Thursday cleaning up! HON CHEMISTRY Friday’s Homework

HONORS CHEMISTRY: Hey guys, here’s the Honors Chemistry homework for Friday. Go to the graph link on Edline (it’s in the Contents section) and review the instructions on constructing a line graph. At the bottom of the instructions page, click on the link, Practice for Graphing and Interpreting Data. Go to the bottom of the page and you will see “Graphing Problems.” Choose any two of the graphs to do for homework. BYW – the link for the graph page is also here under “Chemistry Tutorials” below.

Construct both of the graphs and answer the accompanying questions. You may do both graphs on paper (separate sheets of paper and using the guidelines you review), or you may do one on paper and one on Excel (print the graph – instructions for making graphs using Excel are on the same website). Have a great weekend!
