Chemistry 2-21-19 Electron Configuration Notation & Blocks of the Periodic Table

CHEMISTRY: Wow! You learned a lot today! Don’t we serve an awesome God?!? You probably knew the periodic table was really organized, but did you realize that it was THAT organized? Awesome!

Then, just when you were getting the hang of drawing arrows, I go and change it! But don’t you think writing electron configuration notation is a whole lot shorter than doing orbital notation? Don’t get me wrong, knowing how to do orbital is great for seeing how the electrons are paired, but this way is waaaay shorter!

Be sure and practice with the homework tonight, and don’t forget to use the Aufbau “chart”!!!!

Need extra practice or help with this chapter? Ask me about a help session next week!

  1. I am a bit flustered right now, as I just attempted to submit my web post but there was a typo in my captcha, and how I must rewrite the entire comment, but I’ll try to remember everything I previously said. This week, I’d rate myself a 4/5. While nothing exceptional happened academically this week, I feel like I stepped out of my comfort zone in various areas, most notably by talking to people I don’t usually talk to. This week, I also began on my yearly service hours, and so far have gotten 2.5 through the IT department. I also completely understood the electron configuration notation we covered this week, and I finished my molecular symmetry research thing this week, but the computer lab printer hasn’t been working, so I’ll have to allot more time tomorrow morning to use Mrs. Hutcherson’s. I got decent sleep this week, though truthfully I probably need a bit more, but all in all it was a good week. If there’s one thing that fell short, however, it’s that I didn’t really learn much on my own this week. I think that’s just because I’ve been very busy, but right after this I think I’m gonna try and learn about non-seperable differential equations.

  2. I would rate myself 4/5 this week, I understood the lesson, listened all the way through, and took pretty good notes. This week we learned about Orbital Notation and The Quantum Model of an Atom.

  3. I would rate myself a 4/5 for this week. I understood all of the notes for this week, was able to do problems, and turned in all homework.

  4. i would rate myself a 4/5 this week. i did really good with all the notes and i think i payed attention pretty well. i really understood the orbital notation and electron configuration notation. i’m really glad we took a lot of time on it today during class.

  5. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. Honestly nothing made sense at the beginning of the week, but after today everything blended to be more clear. The orbital notation and the configuration have made a ton of sense which makes me feel so excited. I love laid back weeks where we might not learn as much as normal, but in the long run I learned more than normal and fully understand it. These weeks make me feel better about myself and better about chemistry in general, giving me inspiration. Hope for an even better rest of the week.

  6. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because, it was a little hard to understand the orbital notation, but once we practiced it more together in class I felt more confident and was able to understand the homework

  7. A triumph for this week would be how easily I was able to understand orbital notation. I have never been able to get something so fast in chemistry and I’m so excited for that. I feel like I’m thriving for the last few weeks so 5/5 week. Anyways, have a great weekend!!

  8. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week. I understand the orbital notation and electron configuration pretty well and have been taking good notes. I’ve done good on all the homework and I know with more practice I’ll get better at doing them more quickly.

  9. I would rate myself a 3/5 i understand the orbital notation but not well enough i am going to keep on practicing this weekend to make sure i get it.

  10. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. Even though i missed the class every day but today i feel like i understand the material and did well on my homework.

  11. A Poff C2

This week was very good. i would rate myself a solid 4/5. I understood most everything at the beginning, the noble gas configuration was confusing at first but after a few i feel like i could do them without messing up… I understood the orbital notation VERY well, even though its alot of arrows i somehow enjoyed doing it (weird i know)….

  12. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I have done really good with all the notes. I understand the orbital notation and the electron configuration very well. I have done really good with the noble gas configuration. I have responded well good in class when we are working problems. I am very proud of myself this week!!!!!!!!!

  13. For this week, I would rate myself a 4/5. I took alright notes and understood most of it, but it’s just a lot to take in and learn bit by bit. But I’m gettin’ there!

  14. i rate myself a 4/5 this week because i understood everything and did all my homework. I think i did better this week because i listened and took notes !!!!!!

  15. I’d rate myself 3/5 this week. I’ve been doing well in class by listening and participating in discussion, but I was really struggling with doing homework by myself. I plan to try to balance my studying for geometry and chemistry because the tests are on the same day, along with two quizzes. Next week will be a better week.

  16. This week I rate my self a 5.7/5. I understand everything we are doing and am doing all the homework assigned. Hopefully I’ll do good on the test and I’m gonna study.

  17. This week in Physics, I have been struggling trying to find a fun explore zone exhibit. I will attempt to scrounge the internet in search of a captivating Physics experiment to do this weekend. I feel like I did well on my test, but I always think I do well. The only issue is whenever I feel confident about a test, my grade is a lot lower than I perceive. Hopefully, my grade on this last test turns out better than expected.

  18. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. I feel like I understand everything we’ve learned this week. I hopefully will be able to do well on the test next week since I understand most things in this chapter.

  19. i rate myself a 4/5 today. i understood the configurations very well and i did my homework all week but some of the homework questions were a bit confusing

  20. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. I think I did the best I could with being gone all week. I watched the podcasts and took notes and did the homework. Coming back will be hard because I want to make sure I got everything done.

  21. I give myself a 4/5 this week because i think that I give the electron configurations really well. I think that i am gonna do really well on the upcoming test that we have.

  22. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. I understood the electron configuration and orbital notation. I also understood the homework problems. I hope to do well on this test and I will study a lot this weekend.

  23. I rate myself at a 5/5 this week. I really understood all the types of notations and did all the homework this week. Hopefully I will do good on the test.

  24. I would rate myself at a 4/5 this week. I did really well in the class while taking notes and learning all the notations. Hopefully I do good on the test.

  25. I rate myself a 2/5 this week I was not here tuesday or wednesday and I need to watch the vodcasts to catch up as well as I forgot the webpost.
