Hon Chemistry 2-15-19 Atomic Radii & Ionization Energy

HON CHEMISTRY: Hey guys, here’s the first lecture on periodic trends – atomic radii and ionization energy. You made some great connections today!

We’ve started a new part of the chapter! Don’t forget though that part of the first part of chapter is still important as you prepare for the test! Make sure you’ve making progress on watching the videos of elements from this chapter I mentioned earlier at periodicvideos.com. Very interesting(!), with tons of useful information!

The videos that you must watch from the s-block for the test are potassium, magnesium, and calcium.

The videos you need to watch for the p-Block are carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, and chlorine. http://periodicvideos.com/

The elements from the d block that I especially want you to watch are copper and mercury. And there are other interesting ones you might like to watch just for fun!

The videos on from the f-Block that you need to watch are: neodymium, thorium, and uranium. Go pop some popcorn and have some movie time!

  1. This week, I rate myself a 4/5. This week was very no stressful, so I am grateful for that. I finished the Element Scavenger Hunt without a problem, and I don’t think I have a lot of them to fix. I am very grateful you gave them back to us to fix! The notes today were pretty cool. I liked working the Periodic Table problems. I understood the notes very well.

  2. I would rate myself a 4/5 for this week. The Element Scavenger Hunt was pretty cool and than you for letting us go back and fix some of them. The homework wasn’t to bad and I actually worked ahead finished most of it on Wednesday. The notes week took today were interesting too!

  3. this week i rate myself a 3/5. i have been taking good notes and even understanding the notes. i did procrastinate with the elements packet. but i finished it on time.

  4. This week I would rate myself 4.5/5. I did really well with working on the Reverse Scavenger Hunt, and I only have a few blanks that I need to fix. I worked ahead on the book homework for the past few days, so I spent most nights completely stress free. This week was a really good week for me when it comes to balancing different subjects and working ahead on assignments.

  5. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. While I did put off the reverse scavenger hunt, I managed to get it done with no problems. I also had fun at the honors outing, which was a nice break from school. I look forward to next week.

  6. I rate myself a 4/5 this week! I had such a fun time on the honors outing! I’m very glad noble gas notation is in this chapter again, because I understand it clearly. I’m very thankful that you gave us back our element scavenger hunts. My plan this weekend is to go back and recheck the ones I was confused about and change the single and double word answers.
