  1. This week, I learned how to use Prefixes to name Molecular Compounds. In using Prefixes, you must write the most positive element first. Then, you add the prefix to indicate the number of atoms that is present. You can only add a prefix to the name of the element if more than one atom is present–Never start a compound with Mono-. Next, you change the ending of the second element to -ide. If the element beings with a vowel ,you must drop the end of the prefix. For example, the chemical formula using Prefixes for Carbon Dioxide is CO2. The chemical formula for Chlorine Trifluorine is ClF3. **I could not figure out how to do Subscripts, but I know that the numbers in the chemical formulas are supposed to be Subscripts**
