Hon Chemistry 9-10-18 Chapter 2 Overview

HON CHEMISTRY – God bless you as you prepare for your test! Here’s the short overview of the test that we did in class today (sorry about the mic!!).

Below the vodcast today’s class is the vodcast from a past help session that I thought might help.

Remember, don’t just read your notes and memorize! You must practice your notes, practice the problems, practice the memorization!!

Also, don’t forget the Interactive Review Games with your online text and also sciencegeek.net. God bless you as you study! I’ll be praying for you!!

  1. This week, I rate myself a 4/5. I felt like I did well on the test, and I completed the lab today with my lab partner. Figuring out how to write up the lab was stressful, but it was all okay when we did it today. I liked taking pictures of us doing the lab. I think I will enjoy writing up the labs. Dealing with the Lead Shot was fun. I liked using all of the different lab equipment to create the lab.

  2. This week I’d rate myself a 3/5. The test was not as difficult as I had anticipated it to be, but I didn’t have enough time to finish the big mama xl problem. Also went I went to the ER yesterday and were using the SI system everywhere. They measured my mass in kilograms and the length of my kidney stone in millimeters.

  3. This week I would rate myself a 4/5. I felt like I did good on the test, but the “big mama XL” problem was challenging. I am also glad I got to finish the lab this week with the lead shot. When I first read the lab, I was nervous I wasn’t going to be able to find the mass without a balance. The lab was fun, and it was super rewarding being able to finish and not having to restart the entire process. It was also homecoming week, so dressing up made this week even more exciting!

  4. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I felt very prepared for the test and I believe I got most of the questions correct except for the Big Mama XL. I finished the lab this week with just barely any time to spare, one more second of measuring or drying off the lead and we would have had to redo it all! To do better for the future I am going to work more practice problems before a test and have better time management.

  5. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I feel like I did ok on the test and I woke up early to go to the help session wich helped a lot. The mass without a balance lab was a little stressful at first but after I figured it out it was actually really fun.

  6. This week I would rate myself a 2/5. I did satisfactory on the test but botched the last step of the “big mama XL” problem. Also, I had to restart the “Mass Without a Balance” lab because I did not dry the lead shot enough which caused measurement error. I am just ready to get into the more technical chemistry because I am not very good at doing experiments, but I am better at being able to understand and regurgitate information. Anyway, I hope to get better at the labs as the year progresses because science is a very persuasive career choice in my opinion.

  7. One struggle I’ve had this week is balancing all my tests and assignments. On top of all the schoolwork I’ve had to dress up everyday this week. Coming up with show stopping outfits everyday is not as easy as it looks. I feel like I could have done better with managing my time. I know next week will be better.

  8. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I felt like I did well on the test on Tuesday, and my lab partner and I completed the lab on Wednesday. Writing my procedure was stressful at first, but it ended up being fun.

  9. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I felt pretty good about this test, but the “big mama XL” problem was challenging, and I didn’t quite know how to do it. My lab partner and I did really well on our lab this week. At first, the lab was stressful because I didn’t understand how to design it since I have never done that before. Overall, I feel pretty good about the week, but I need to work harder on the bigger and longer problems to better understand what I need to do to get the correct answer with the correct work.

  10. This week I would rate myself 4/5. I feel like I did really well on the test, even though I don’t know how I did on the big mama xl problem. I was originally stressed about the Mass without a Balance lab, but I think I did well. I’m going to work on writing up the lab this weekend so I can tackle next week’s homework on Monday and Tuesday. I struggled some on the Technology 101 steps, but after a little bit of help I figured it out, and I think I’ll be able to manage it now.

  11. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week. The lab was fun once we figured out what we should be doing. I’m really glad I went help session and the test went pretty well except for the Big Mama XL problem. Combined with homecoming I felt pretty good about this week.

  12. I rate myself a 2/5 for this week, because it was hectic with homecoming plus I’m still getting adjusted to my new class. Although, it will take some getting used to, I am excited for the future work and labs I will do in this class!

  13. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I do think I did well on the test, despite not having completed the last problem. Everything else was quite confusing and stressful. However, I have the weekend to process all of the information.

  14. This week I feel I would rate myself a 4/5 because I think I did well on the test because I studied correctly. Also, I feel that my lab partner and I did very well on the Lab Without a Balance.
