Chemistry 4-13-18 Dipoles & Intermolecular Forces

CHEMISTRY: So why is molecular geometry important? Here’s the beginning of the answer! Great job on drawing dipoles. And thanks for helping me pick up all that water!

We’ll continue our discussion with intermolecular forces tomorrow, and also tackle ionic bonds!

  1. I am struggling with the concept of dipoles and how they decide the molecules are either polar or non polar and I would like to know when a help session will be available so please tell me and help understand these knew concepts so I can be prepared and do well on the test Thursday.

  2. I rate myself a 3/5 for this week. I understood some of the notes we took, but I do not understand yesterdays lesson on dipoles at all.

  3. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I have been taking good notes but some of the concepts like drawing lewis structures and dipoles I don’t understand completely.

  4. this week in chemistry was an overall good week for me. i understood just about every we did in class. the thing we did friday i thought was very cool.

  5. This week I would rate myself a 3/5. This week I turned in my lab after the due time and feel like I could have participated more in class.

  6. I would rate myself a 5/5 this week. I felt like I understood everything really well and am prepared for the next week.

  7. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week because I feel like I am balancing the project and normal chemistry work very well.

  8. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I wasn’t here at the beginning of the week. so i’m kind of behind on my work. I will get back on task next week.

  9. This week was an ok week, I didn’t really take good notes of the lesson from Thursday. I did good on keeping up with the cLAB early in the week. However, I’m falling little bit behind on my project. So, I’m most likely spending all weekend on that.

  10. I would rate myself a4/5 this week. I did all the homework and took good notes. I’m going to do a bunch of the project this week. The activity we did today was pretty fun.

  11. This week in chemistry was very challenging to me. I did not fully understand the information that was taught but I completed all my work.

  12. This week in class was pretty good. I understood the lesson and I think I did good on the google slides. Overall this was a good week

  13. This week in chemistry I enjoyed learning about dipoles. Also doing the activity in class was a cool way to see how the bonds react when they break. This weekend I am focusing on finishing a big part of the project.

  14. This week in chemistry was a success. I figured out how to work MolView, and already turned in my cLab. I have the first two parts for my chemistry project completed.

  15. This week i would rate myself a 2/5 because when we got on the topic of dipoles I was absolutely lost. I also have been trying to figure out the project and a study sheet for the test.

  16. This week was a good week for me. I felt like I understood the notes well and did well on the lab. The activity we did today was fun!

  17. this week of chemistry was a 3/5. I forgot to do last night’s book work. I thought today’s lab was fun and got to learn how hydrogen bonds break and work. I’m getting close to my chemistry project being done but probably need to look at it and edit it.

  18. this week of chemistry was a 3/5. I forgot to do last night’s book work. I thought today’s lab was fun and got to learn how hydrogen bonds break and work. I’m getting close to my chemistry project being done but probably need to look at it and edit it.

  19. I would rate myself a 3/5 because I did really well taking notes in class but I had some trouble with the lab and the homework.

  20. This week l rate myself a 2/5. l am really behind on assignments since l missed. My missions trip was amazing though so you have to make sacrifices. Attempting the hw this week was rough because l didn’t really understand anything. Hopefully l will be causing up by Monday!

  21. A struggle this week was definitely the dipoles lesson. When we watched the video I was very lost so the homework was kinda hard for me to understand. But today when you talked to us more about it I started to understand a lot more.

  22. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I feel like I took good notes throughout the week but did not do too well on the 3D molecule lab.

  23. I would rate myself a 4/5 this week bc I am catching up on all my make up work but I don’t fully understand the lesson and I’m stressed about the lab

  24. I rate myself a 4/5 for the week. I feel like I could work out molecule problems, just need to practice the process.

  25. This week in chemistry I would rate myself a 3/5 I worked on my lab and understood the dipoles and notes we worked. I missed the lab Friday but it looked fun. Ready to make it up.

  26. This week I give myself a 3/5. I had a busy week, so I didn’t get much of the project done, and I’m having a difficult time understanding the lesson. Thankfully, I’ll be able to work a lot more on the project next week.

  27. This week was not my best week… I hope that I grasp a better understanding of the lesson as I do more of the homework… However I did find the lab to be very amusing, and it was a good example of the different types of bonds in common items like milk and food coloring.

  28. I give myself 3/5 this week. I forgot to do 1 homework and I waited until the last minute to do the lab and I do not really understand the dipoles.

  29. This week was a 4/5 for me. I’m still lacking sleep, but the overall concept of bonds and forces is starting to make sense. More exposure to it is needed, but overall, it’s alright. I’m going to binge work on my project(s) this weekend, so maybe I’ll get a good head start.

  30. I would give myself a 4/5 this week. I don’t really understand everything we went over yesterday, but I finished all my work.

  31. Question about the dipoles in polyatomic ions. How do you represent polyatomic ions with canceling dipoles? Can polyatomic ions be polar? I thought the charge of the ion would make one part of the molecule more charged than another part.

  32. This week I rate myself a 4/5 to me the Lewis structures came easy I think I struggled most in determining what shape it had

  33. Honestly, this week has been a struggle. I am stuck on where to go from where I am right now in the project, but I checked out some books that will hopefully help! Also, the dipole vodcast was a little confusing, but I know if I keep practicing it will be fine. I’m starting to make a stuff to know sheet for the upcoming test because I know this next week will be really busy!

  34. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. Because I understand how to draw lewis structures and draw dipoles, but there are still a few things I do not understand.

  35. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. That is because I did all my homework but I did not understand all of it completely. What I’m struggling with is the dipoles concept but with practice, I think it’ll get better!

  36. I would rate myself 4/5 this week! I’m still having trouble with dipoles but I get drawing Lewis structures now

  37. I rate myself a 3/5 for this week. This overall was a pretty good week. The cLAB was pretty easy to do once i got the hang of it. However, i completely forgot about my webpost yay! Better late than never i guess!
