Chemistry 3-2-18 Intro to cLAB: Element Reverse Scavenger Hunt

CHEMISTRY: What a great beginning to this chapter on the periodic table! This type of independent research is a great way to learn the information about the elements on the Periodic Table. Careful – treat this like it’s kind of a riddle! Sometimes you will have to dig deep to interpret the hint from the picture!

Here’s the vodcast from today (yes – today for real! The new mic worked!!) on the s block notes, notes on hydrogen, and some hints on how to continue the cLAB.

All of the s-block is due Monday in class, and you also have a little bit of book work for Monday.

To supplement your research, there are some really interesting videos with tons of useful information at this site: http://periodicvideos.com/

Some great videos to watch from the s-block for the test are potassium, magnesium, and calcium.

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

  1. I rate myself a 3/5 this week because I was very tired and stressed. I was stressed about the reverse scavenger hunt but once I got the hang of it it was fine. Also I retook my chapter 4 test and I feel better about it than the first one.

  2. Although this has been the most stressful week of the year so far, a lot of lessons were learned. I did a lot of reflecting and praying but life goes on, but it’s up to me to make the best out of all this. I rate this week a 3/5 just for all the lessons.

  3. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week I did better on the test than I thought I did! I was having a little trouble with the clan but I got it done

  4. I would rate myself a 3/5 this week because I felt like I did well on the lab today but not so well on the scavenger hunt.

  5. This week in chemistry i rate myself a 3.5 out of 5. I was okay with my test score even though i could’ve done better. I need to quit making careless errors, study more to make sure i know my information backwards and forwards and manage my time better on test. I also learned a lot from the Clab we did, even though it was time consuming. I am thankful for spring break, but can’t wait to get back to chemistry in a week!

  6. I would rate myself a 5/5 this week. I kept up with all my work and did well on my cLab. Also my lab partners and I did well on the lab we did today.

  7. This week I rate myself a 4/5. I was a rather slow week. I did horrible on my test but I’m just going to enjoy my spring break. I hope to do better when we come back

  8. I rate myself a 3/5 this week. I did not do the best on the test as I hoped for , but I learned from my mistakes.

  9. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. Some of the reverse element research facts were challenging but very interesting. I enjoyed the light a lamp activity . I am striving to get a better grade on the next test.

  10. I was very happy with this week. I studied hard for my test and did very good on it and the clab took a long time but was easy

  11. I rate myself a 4/5 this week. I didn’t do as good on my test as I wanted to. I did all of my work and did well on the lab.

  12. this week in chemistry I would rate as a 2/5. I forgot about this web post because I had work and I’m stressed. I understand what we learned about all the blocks and new things about the elements. I did all of my homework.
